Can't get good ending for Madonna of Sassau

This game is so old yet nobody seems to have even a vague idea of how to get the good ending here. I'm not mad or anything, in terms of story I actually don't care that much about not getting the good ending. I'm just curious of how the quest actually works and what you need to do.

I like playing these games as comedic as possible, so I did stuff like sniping the three guys looking to ambush Johanka outside of the gate without talking to them, and I think it's coming back to bite me in the ass.

I heard you can get good ending by getting the book from the pilgrimage which I did, and also convince Johanka to admit fault but I just couldn't convince her, even with 20 speech and 20 charisma she won't listen.

Also in terms of lore I'm curious what's actually supposed to be happening here? Johanka just getting some bad dreams and hallucinations?

For me biggest change was to accuse Sebastian vom Berg as guilty and Johannka was innocent(so he took her by "force"). Sebastian then says like : Wtf I'm out.
He is jerk anyway, so who cares.

You mean quest before? There should never spill any blood.(these people are basicaly innocent).

What do you mean nobody knows how to get the good ending? There are literally guides about it right here on Steam. I used one and got the good ending with no issue, from the first try.

Except it doesn't, it's just a rehash of what the game already tells you.

I'm not looking for a walkthrough, I'm looking for JUST a list of what are the minimum requirements to get the good ending.

In any case, talk with her about her trial and tell her "You mustn't provoke the Bishop". Johanka, however, tells you how she must be steadfast in her hour of need and spread the word of Holy Mary. Press her some more for a classic 'Et tu, Brutes?' reaction. No matter what you say, you shan't convince her so return to Brother Nicodemus.

look at this, it doesn't even tell you what's required to convince her. It just assumes the dialog option exists because you followed the walkthrough, but I didn't follow it and I don't want to follow it, I want to know what's the one thing required, and only do that one thing.

yea but it's funny because I'm doing what Johanka tells me on the surface but secretly behind her back I've murdered everybody.

If that's true, then there's your problem. You need those people to speak out on Johanka's behalf. If they're still alive, then their testimony makes the Inquisitor realize that the main accusation against Johanka, that of her practicing witchcraft, is just so much hooey and he'll toss it out. The other accusation can be defeated be telling her that her boyfriend is still alive and that he wants her to recant her earlier claims. If you do that, she'll recant, and be let off with no punishment.

Either a) Visitations of Virgin Mary
or
B) Combination of massive, near spirit bendind stress, PTSD, crushing worry , lingering guilt and dumb luck.

The game pretty much tells you what to do.

- Listen to Nicodemus' advice.
- Listen to Johanka.
- Listen to the Inquisitor.
- Talk to everyone.
- Have relatively high Speech.

If you do all that, it's pretty much impossible to not get the "good" ending. You don't even need to try.

- Do all optional objectives, get everyone to testify.

- Tell the inqusitor everything, don't lie (pre trial)

- Don't bribe or threaten any of witnesses

- Use Charisma on the swordsmith wife so she reveals she harbors a grudge and use it against her in the trial.

- After attempting to persuade Johanka to tone down rhetoric in trial report to brother Nico and then go speak with Matthias and tell him what's going on, he will give you his lucky dice and you will need to take this back to Johanka and tell her Matthias is OK and that it's OK for her to stand down now, her work for the holy mother is completed.

- Get the book from Godwin (durint pilgrimage)about how God chooses simple women to call out the vanity and sin of man.


During the Trial pass all speech checks (you may need bard potions), support Johanka every chance you get, bring up the endorsed book Godwin gave you about women channeling the world of God, call out Sebastian for taking advantage, bring up the swordsmith wife harbor grudge and call every witness to the stand to support Johanka.

That should be enough.
