Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

A humble request for the developers, regarding the sequel to 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance'.
This is a bit of a tangent, but this sentiment needs to ring through the entire gaming industry, until certain developers put the pipe down.

My request is that you not force people to give Nvidia money to be able to play your game.

Ray tracing. I can't tell if it's a godsend for lazy developers, or the cause of their ultimate demise. I'm speaking practically of course. Calm down.

If the pre-baked lighting, or whatever it's called, isn't there on day one, it's all good. I only ask that you make the right decision from a business perspective, and make your game accessible to the biggest range of systems, without compromising the overall quality of your product.

Hell, I'll even make you a deal. If you don't force me to buy a new graphics card, I won't pirate your game to see if I can run it, before actually paying for it, because it's not piracy, it's quality control.

To be honest, if you read this whole post, and the last part is the one that made you mad, then all hope is gone.

I'm on a 1650. If I can play cyberpunk, why can't I play STALKER 2?

On your second point, I know nobody cares... Except for bots, and lazy devs who would rather you buy their dumpster fires sight unseen.

If you can't tell, life has made me a very angry person. LOL
Nvidia is the most popular card used. I don't think your post will make them go back and redo their whole game.

Ray tracing is, indeed, why I will never switch to AMD but it's not the only reason.
I blame AMD for this, actually
I'm on an NVIDIA 1650. One of the most popular cards still to this day. If you force ray tracing, It's safe to say you are locking out a good chunk of your audience. If it's an optional feature, that's fine. You can have your ray tracing, but anyone who needs to upgrade their graphics card to play a game they already paid 60$ for, should refund the 60$, because why the ♥♥♥♥ shouldn't I be able to play games on a card that still has plenty of life left in it.

The world economy just got through four years of DEI gang rape. If you have that kind of money to throw around, and you think I'm being over-dramatic, feel free to buy me a card, and I'll kindly stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The facts are, that any developer who would force 25% (probably more) of their audience to shell out more than 200 on a new card, is harming their company not just in goodwill, but it hurts them from a business perspective as well. Any money you save on labor will be lost twofold in sales.

Whether you're in it for the love of gaming, or for the money, it's still a bad decision.

As of this posting:
Nvidia RTX 63.87%
Nvidia Other 21.88%
AMD 16.44%
Intel 7.73%

It was inevitable that RTX would eventually become a requirement.
Nvidia Other 21.88%

I'm still not wrong. If they force ray tracing, they are leaving money on the table. Facts are facts.

This thread is pointless, it will change nothing. Unless you think the devs are willing to drop everything 30 days before release and rework it because someone on the steam forums can't afford a new gpu. Why don't you complain about mac compatiblity or something equaly pointless.
Forced ray tracing can be okay even with a lower end ray traced GPU since for example AMD cards can play Indiana Jones just fine even though ray tracing is a requirement. The only issue is cards with zero RT support which btw means the card is pretty old at this point.
I'm not saying rework the game. I'm not demanding pre-baked lighting on release. Are these replies supposed to argue my point? Because the last time someone tried to argue my point with an irrelevant statement, it was ChatGPT.

Ray tracing is not going anywhere. It's here to stay. It is fine. Even lower end RT cards can do it fine.

Those are not irrelevant statements. Also I have another relevant statement, get a new GPU.

Nah. I got me a new welder about a month ago, and the best part about that is, I won't have to pay 300 dollars for a new one in a year, because all the welding stick suppliers didn't arbitrarily decide that I need a new welder, because they're only going to supply these new sticks, that weld worse than the old ones, and need an extra 200 amps.

Get wrecked nerd.

Because welders don't need 200 more amps. However as graphics improve you are going to need to upgrade. Are you still playing on a Commodore 64? No? Congratulations you already upgraded without knowing it. Enjoy stay in the past, gramps.
Graphics peaked 5 years ago. Upscaling is not graphics, it's like when you make a spelling mistake as a kid, and instead of erasing it, then re-doing it, you try to write over the wrong letters with the right letters.

We are talking about raytracing not upscaling. Stop changing topics or making random chatgpt points.
I'm glad my welder doesn't suddenly need 200 more amps, just like my computer doesn't need another 200+ dollar graphics card to play STALKER 2. Stop making lame excuses for lazy devs who prioritize profit over people, because when you put profit over people YOU LOSE BOTH. I know people who won't touch STALKER 2, who DO have 4090s, only they also have friends, with cards that should be able to run STALKER 2, but they can't.

If I get a 4090. I'm still not giving GSC my money. because ♥♥♥♥ that.
