How to get Cuman Ears?

I'm south of Uzhitz and I was just ambushed by 3 Cuman soldiers while out searching for the runaway horse, Pie. I killed the 3 Cuman soldiers that attacked me but I can't seem to get any ears off of them.

I read on a different thread that you might stop getting ears after a certain point in the story, but I haven't progressed far at all in the storyline. In fact I haven't even cleared the very first Cuman camp near Rattay yet. The only ear I've looted so far is one I got when rescuing that one guy after being captured by bandits when we were on our hunting trip.

Are you only able to loot ears from certain areas of map? Are they randomly given where most Cumans don't give you any ears? I've killed a few other random Cumans that I met on the roads as well, but no ears from them either.

When Robard sends you out to attack Cuman camps you will get ears. Although, somewhere along the way I found a Cuman with an ear for me. I don't know why. I carried it for days.

Cuman ears come from Cumans that are at the Cuman Camps, not from Cumans encountered at an Ambush location.

Sometimes the game does seem to glitch and provide unexpected Ears (from Bandits or Cumans), but only the assigned camps should be expected to produce ears.

That said, IIRC, the occasional Cuman ear that you get from random encounters can still be redeemed. IIRC.

When you kill them cumans and bandits loot their body there will be an ear take it then sell them
