Henry can slaughter the whole camp. That is how Henry 'scout'.
Alternatively, you can just go back to Sir Radzig and fight a slightly harder fight later on. As long as you have enough intel so that Sir Radzig would call both reinforcement from Rattey and Talmberg, you can sit in the back and doing nothing. Yes, even if you don't sabotage enemy camp.
I heard that Henry can also kill Timmy and join the Camp from Morcock's introduction. You can also scout that way if you are willing to load back to an earlier save and sacrifice Timmy.
If you like you can also circle around the camp first to get some more details on how to approach the camp during the battle. Which doesn't actually change anything, you will always start at the same location, and go over the bridge into the camp. If you picked the second or third option on enemy numbers it won't be that hard to fight them later. But you have to sure that archers are killed as soon as possible.
Maybe wrong but I read that cuman armor wont work if its blooded or very dirty.
once i accepted that the game will not allow me to do this by stealth or subterfuge, as implied, i decided to cheese the heck out of the Scout Pryb mission
it's simply far easier to down the potion triplet, park yourself in the barn side entrance, and then just start killing them all - back-stepping often - arrows with Dollmaker for the win
then, i walk all around and "scout" the area while stripping the bodies - nobody notices, nobody cares except my overloaded horse, and all the cumans and bandits respawn for the battle - works every time
you can also dress as a Cuman and run through the camps - the bandits will leave you alone until you do something wrong (ur Cuman), and only a single cuman will follow Henry around at a walk until the interaction to discover Henry is not a Cuman, so avoid the interaction with the single cuman following Henry, and race about doing some arrows and pots, and then just keep running (since ur only in cuman gear)

It has all the advantage you ever dreamed about.
They will always attack once they see you poison their pots and destroy arrows. There is no way around that unless you kill them all first. Don't make it harder as it is. If you killed one of the Cumans at the bridge you can use their armor. Make sure you're light (weight perks) so you can easily outrun the enemies. This quest is over in just a few minutes, without killing anyone. It's a waist of time, unless you want skill points, they will still be there later.
