and Runt is "the battle" you need to be ready for, even if you expect to avoid most fights
since you seem to be doing some sort of speed run, i can't help you
Looks like someone skipped Leg Day.
Yes bugs in a game are my fault clearly. Especially the game breaking ones were the game crashes and freezes during loading screens. I should of made the game myself next time you right.
You shouldn't even be facing Runt yet if you don't have things like Strength already maxed, you obviously rushing some stuff. I had that maxed out by the time I finished the investigation from the Neuhof Horse Farm. After that when I was scouting out Pribyslavitz before moving forward in the story, I saved my game and then just playing around, had no problems clearing over 30-35 Cumans from that place just with my Bow.
I have played through KCD after all the DLCs were added and it has very rarely ever had any problems. The hiccup on the loading screen is normal, it shouldn't crash if you simply take you hands off the KB+M and let the game actually load. What I do is soon as you see the NVIDIA + Steam overlay popups on that first loading screen, press ESC 2-3 times and then it'll load perfectly fine. If you have a more modern PC, then you want a user.cfg so the game can use more RAM and actually use your SSD speeds. It helps quite a bit.
Much of the bugs I've seen in videos was often due to the person's poor PC specs causing a problem. I make it a point that in order to run KCD properly, one must make a user.cfg and include certain strings in there. And add +exec user.cfg to Steam Launch Options so the file is actually used upon game launch. Things like parameters for System RAM, SSD Speed, Textures Streaming delays and such.
If your CPU is getting pegged @ 90+ % at any time, then some bugs are due to your PC specs, plain and simple. Any game that is CPU demanding, you can have all sorts of bugs occur that wouldn't otherwise happen when the CPU is being pegged too hard.
1. First thing I did was to go collect flowers for the 10k flowers achivement, and got the perk that gains you strength when you do that, so I got my strength up to 6 or 7 from that. It took me something like 4-5 hours to collect all 10k flowers and get my strength to that level. You could watch something in the background because it's going to be boring. A great place for collecting is left and up from Uzhitz. I think I got all 10k from there.
2. Have in your inventory these potions: Lazarus potion, Bivoj's Rage, Bane Potion, Dollmaker potion.
3. I got my armor and weapons from looting corpses during the battle. They are better when you are near the church. Also some of your allies have strong armors, if they happen to die during the fight. For fighting Runt I used a combination of axes and maces with shields for defence, all collected from the big battle before.
4. Stay near your allies at all times so they have better chances to succeed. But not too close so you get hurt.
5. After the cutscene, when you are in the church, you have 2-3 seconds to access your inventory before the fight. Drink the Lazarus and Bivoj and use the Bane and Dollmaker on your weapons. I think I used Dollmaker first. Then try to do your best fighting and hit him as hard as you can, especially in the head. I think the fight took something like 15 minutes.
Hopefully this can reach and help someone else. If I'll remember any more details I'll edit this and add them.
For example when you are finished with Timmy and all of that and are asked to report enemy camp to Radzig; here is where you can stop going down that quest path and go do other stuff. There are many other quests to do still if you talk to certain people. By the time I fight Runt I've been basically everywhere there is to go on the whole map, even deep in the woods and found all or most Treasure Chests and such, read every book there is to read, etc. Needless to say I'm nearly maxed out and already have all the best gear in the entire game once I face Rent and then go to be the Bailiff of that town afterwards. 99% of all the gear in the game is all free, via Treasure Chests or by beating various enemies. Then if the gear is heavily damaged, have a Armorer or someone who can, Repair them. Then go get into some fights with Bandits and Cumans so you can get all your gear slightly damaged, then repair them yourself. By doing that (with proper perks) the gear will all now be lighter, make less noise and depending on the combination of gear, shouldn't have a negative impact on Charisma.
