Im running the game at almost max settings (except global illumination to very high instead of ultra) with a locked 4k 60 fps.
His set up should be doing much better.
7800x3d with a 6950 xt with 32gb ddr5
The global illumination tanked my fps indoors at ultra but no issues at very high
also vsync can cause issues, use vsync through your nvidia app instead of the in game option if you are using it
I'm using vsync it stops screen tearing, Weather in video games can cause huge problems but even in the rain i'm at 59 fps.
what windows are you running? you could try running the game into compatibility mode for windows 7 cause having new windows can cause major problems when windows 10 first launched nobodies games worked at all lol perhaps it's that but you shouldn't be having issue if my rtx is fine bruv
i let geforce experience take control of the game though I find geforce fixes a lot of teething problems with games so I don't have too
What are your specs? No issues for me, you are probably trying to run the game with settings your pc is not good enough for
Everything maxed with hd textures . ( only 3440x1400)
Game runs buttersmooth in and out cities yet at some places it drastically drops frames for probably no reason . Lets hope they do optimize the second game.
I'm running the game on a 5700x, 4060Ti 16Gb, 32GB RAM (3200Mhz CL16).
I tried different settings:
- FHD (native) at ultra high, 60Hz + vsync
- WQHD (via NVIDIA DSR) at ultra high, 60 Hz + Vsync
Usually, I'm also using the windows power saving plan which reduces the max CPU power to 85%.
Result was that both WQHD and FHD ran at 60 fps all time, exept in larger towns like e.g. Rattay,
There, my FPS suddenly dropped to ~32 FPS when reaching the centre.
Unlocking the CPU power by setting the power plan to balanced again, boosted the FPS by 10-15 to ~47 FPS
Therfore it's probably not a GPU but a CPU issue and so reducing some CPU intense settings is the way to go,
Reducing Shadows, lights, volumetrics and physics to ultra and/or high solved it for me, and now I'm getting stable 60 FP even in Rattay.
You might also try redicing the rendering distance, which will gain you some addition FPS.
Just play around with the sliders, and you should get a reasonable and stable FPS.
Just don't expect it running at 'ultra high' at 120+ fps.
It's an open world game, not a shooter.
