About refund - bought regular but want Royal

I asked for a refund without even installing it (I love this game but I didn't have it on Steam)

Do I need to wait until Steam gives me a refund for the regular edition in order to buy the royal one?

It tells me "If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of: [the base game]"
But if I buy now the Royal edition and I get a refund for the base game - will I have no version of the base game and stuck only with the DLC?

I'm very confused

There is a reason they have the money back guarantee if you return a game within the refund period. You could then cancel that way, then just buy again with the right version.

Yes but the guarantee is up to 7 days, and the discount is only for 2-3 days... I need to know if I can purchase the Royal Edition I can still download and play the basic one, since I get a refund for the basic one AND they said I will not get the basic copy (because I already have it.

In other words: I bought an apple, I want a nother apple with extras but the seller told me I can only have the extras.

Will I get the apple if I buy the other one, if I return the first apple?
