right, the training that doesn't matter at all anyway when you can just stealth kill everyone at night or insta-gib them with a bow. sorry, the melee combat is steaming trash and the other options FAR outweigh the time required and benefits of melee.
Is this a Pino Noir or just Boone's Farm?
First we need to know how long you've been playing this game? And then what level you're at.
There are many Youtube videos that can, if you're open to it, show you clearly that you're wrong. Or just haven't tried.
This one was made in 2018 not too long after release and well before the 1.9 update, and the player was only at level11:

And in this one the player is in hard core mode and only at level 9.

another video shows Henry taking on 13 players at once.
99% of everyone who plays this game initially experiences the same frustration as you did.
You either learn or go back to Skyrim...your choice.
I see how the combat can be janky. Yet once you get familiar with the jankyness you can pretty much pass it.
Movement and keep switching locking priority helps a lot especially when fighting more than
one enemy.
Also check your weapons and see if they are adapted to the minimal stats you need for it.
The game often keeps repeating IF YOUR STATS ARE TOO LOW SOME WEAPONS WILL NOT DO THE DEMAGE IT'S INTENTED TO.
But yeah some of you tend to skip tutorials and tips.
Also some weapons are simply trash when it comes to defeating guys with a bit of armor.
Learn to par, Bernard literally tells you how to do it if you at least cared to listen a little bit.
Press Block to alling the sword with the enemy, keep doing it until he start swaying then you can par the strike. Secondly once you reach a certain level in combat or with your weapon you can still ask Bernard to learn master strikes, meaning every succesfull par will make Henry stab or punch the enemy taking a bit of it's health.
If you have less than 10 hours probably you haven't even got to learn the basics, both in-game and as a player.
Melee combat sucks.
Get over it fanbois.
Yes, i can fight 1vX with ease - it still sucks.
Like some people said: Most of the time u fast equip your bow and kill 2-3 guys before they even reach you in a few seconds - while fighting melee consumes much more time and is sometimes a pain in the ass with targets switching.
oh and of course - as soon as you turn your back to your enemys and run - they get super sonic speed and can hit you without problems - unrealistic af.
As i said - Np to fight 5-8 guys but in comparison to bow and others things its just stupid.
How can people say 'it works perfectly' - because it doesn't, it has flaws - get over it.
Ah the fanboy card, threads always go well after playing it.
When you run enemies can "tackle" you too, armour, stats and perks all play a role here; would be more unrealistic being able to outrun them easily.
Note how above @vine said "combat works perfectly in terms of what devs intended", context is important.
It's great, not for everyone but if you like the concept you'll enjoy it.
If you like a challenge you'll enjoy it. if you like the immersion, you'll enjoy it. If you can focus, you'll enjoy it. If you can learn, you'll enjoy it. If you can be patient, you'll enjoy it.
if you want to be an imaginary super-hero, and you want it right now: if you get easily frustrated and tend to quit or break things, you're probably better off bowling.
And the game gives you multiple ways to problem solve.
