Thought about Theresa?
What you guys think of her? I've played this game for some long time and its the first time playing DLC womans lot. Gosh how Theresa is bland and boring. I could not finish her dlc, yeah I know, she saved Henry but I just dont like her, I don't want to do her questline by any means. Bianca should have been spared or exchanged paper with Theresa.

i personally actualy found her to be a breath of fresh air. heres why. its because of how normal of a character she is. bland and boring is perfectly valid. but to be frank i kinda like that she is just a normal person living a normal life. compared to the 99 percent of all other love interest for main characters as a whole in video games that ive payed and ive plyed many.

i just like that this one is just a normal woman living her perfectly normal life.her worriesare normal. what she does day to day normal.she has normal goals. i like that her reacton to skaltz attack and all that occured is normal when compared to many other games where to the female character sets out on a missionto avenge their loved ones death.

all and all i just like that she is just a normal person living her life.

Well the game is based on medieval times and a women's lot in life back then was basically to stay at home and look after the home and bring up children. Its nothing like what disney and hollywood tries to tell us about women being this all powerful hero that doesn't need men.

So as a result its kind of hard to make a historically accurate game and not have a women's time in it come across as just boring.

As a character she isn't really interesting, but overall I liked the DLC for having a chance to "come home" and get a better perspective on what happened on that day and the day before. I wouldn't want to replay it though, too much pointless walking.

I doubt the mod works anymore (vintage 2018 or 19?), but you can replace Theresa with one of the bath house 'staff', one a little more 'your type'. And IMHO, if I'm going to role play, that is a valid choice for a romantic partner.

EDIT: re-read mod, it is Bianka's face. Actually there are a few Theresa replacers, so go for it, make the game playable again OP!

That is not true at all though. I recommend the book "Femina" by Professor Janina Ramirez, which is about women in medieval times.

As to Theresa: The writers at Warhorse are not very good at NPC design. Theresa is lame, she lacks every personal agenda or depth. But that is most side-characters. Some like Capon are very clunkily designed stereotypes, so they are not "boring" at the first glance, but really they are. Characters are mostly defined by what they do in that game. And if they cannot do some dramatic actions, they fall flat. NPCs like Antonia who are supposed to have a backstory and their own thing going are lackluster, their quests not coherent and often bugged. It is like they attempted some social "substance", but they just didn't know how to do it or were distracted before they could finish. Even Henry is basically the "orcs murdered my village" lame stereotype backstory character. That is my big peeve with the game.

Fine to have your opinion, but, really sounds like you did not enjoy the game and have some bias for one reason or another. It is not my overall opinion of the game or think majority of players.

Not all games meant for everyone, so play the fabulous games you do enjoy.

Barbra Streisand IRL. Why would Henry pick her if he can take Bedrishka? She lost her husband, so why not take her to Prebislavitsa! Sadly not possible in game...

Well, not everybody has high expectations to the writing of media. It is fine if you feel satisfied with what we get there from Warhorse, and your only issue is the face. We need people like you too on the world. But here I could say: Not all games are meant for everyone. If you have an issue with normal-to-plain looking characters, you maybe should go back to your fabolous other games that you enjoy instead of whine that this one does not cater to your personal taste in women facial features. See? This is why your comment does nothing for the discussion. It is a very lame and very 20ies mindset to go "oh, you criticize one thing about something, you must not like it at all! leave it be at once!". When did you younglings forgot how to endure dissent? Or to accept a differentiated view that does not just endorse or just condemn?

I really, really hope for another one soon. The years of teasing have to end! Fallout did well with NPCs too.

No thanks, I don't read feminist revisionist propaganda

It is a semi-scientific work. You can check all the claims and quotes. Or the archeological findings that are refered too. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it propaganda. It is received quite favorably by the historian crowd. And the author is a historian too.
Also, that aside, I participated in medieval literature research. About loan words in ancient middle high german, for example. Unlike you, my knowledge of that era does not start and end with computer games or Hollywood movies. I assure you the book is not controversial at all. Have you ever heard of beguines? Or Hildegard von Bingen? Or ever read any actual medieval text? No? Hm, maybe you should qualify your opinion a bit before you spew unbased opinions :) Or look at the book before drawing uninformed conclusions.

No thanks. Like I said, I am not interested in feminist revisionism. In fact, I don't care at all what women have to say. Especially a woman who *checks my notes* used to play in a "punk rock band"
