Then when I went looking for him to "show" him how much I "enjoyed" my time in jail, I couldn't find him.
Life is not fair.
"I punched a monk to leave the Monastery"
"Jesus Christ be praised."
Psst. That guy lives at the far end of the monastery courtyard after the garden and the small church on the second floor of a house with a guard at the door (lets you in without saying a word).
I spent a few months in a Franciscan mission during grad school many years ago, and many years later when I played KCD that claustrophobic loss of free will feeling immediately came back. It was shocking to me that it could be portrayed so well in a game, but maybe I only felt that way because of my previous experience??? So I'm biased...
Still, It is truly one of the best role playing game experiences. But too bad so many do not have the maturity to actually realize that was what the devs were after.
Revenge in this game is good. After the Johanka dlc, I sought out a priest, murdered him, carried his corpse to the church yard in Sasau and literally dumped him into an open grave.
Felt good. Real good. If you play the dlc you'll understand.
I got it. On my first run I did the whole spiel and came to loathe the priests in charge. As intended. Got into trouble a LOT. Made a mental note to do it different next time.
On my next run, I broke in and hid a dagger and lockpick in a trunk in the basement before I 'joined the order'. Next day I murdered everyone and ransacked the place. Henrys come to see you, and you're all f*cked. That place is actually a whole lot bigger than you'd think - it extends way to the other side near the alchemist. Lots to steal. Lots of brothers to murder in their beds. Ahhhh immersion.
This game has some of the best quests ive ever seen, its up there with Witcher 3 as far as open world games go
