SUDDEN MASSIVE FPS DROP

I was just playing KCD, turned it off, went to get dinner and after like 2 hours started again my pc and started kcd, but from some 70-90 fps it dropped to constant like 28 fps. When I pause the game in the pause menu i have like 150 fps, but otherwise the game is unplayable. The technical state of the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pisses me of so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much because otherwise i was having a great time with it

Just loaded the game up for the sake of this post and everything seems to be running normal for me..so sorry, not too sure.
Drivers? validate files?

I'm on a 3080 5800x3d 32gb ram playing on 1440p and now my game just runs at like 30-40 fps no matter what settings i use. All my drivers up to date.

Drivers are up to date and Ive tried to validate files, Ive actually tried everything that I could think of, even completely turning my pc off with the electricity button, but nothing seems to help...

Are you playing the game for the first time?
In cities, the fps can drop to 50 or less due to a CPU limit (regardless of which CPU), even if you had over 150fps outside of the city. There is almost no CPU load in the pause menu.

If things suddenly go so badly at exactly the same point after saving/loading: In in-game cutscenes, the game limits the fps to 30 and resets it again after the sequence. If it was an autosave after the sequence, the value may not have been reset. Is it the same with another save game? If it's not there, try sys_MaxFPS=0 in the console for your current save game to unlock the fps again.
If it is a laptop, it could also be due to the power options.
Just a few ideas...

I actually thought that this could be the problem even before you pointed it out, so I tried to load a manually saved game and it was still laggy, in the menu it says 40fps even though it doesnt feel like it and immediately for like 2 seconds after loading in the saved game i have 80fps and it just drops during those 2 seconds to 30 and its moving around 30

This is really strange. Normally it should run worse for the first few seconds and then get faster as everything that was missing has been reloaded...
All I can think of is that you may have installed mods since then. But you're unlikely to have done that while eating.
Maybe you copied mods while the game was running and then they only loaded the next time you started the game?

Nothing like this has ever happened to me with the game and I've played around with a lot of the settings.

Man all the same issues you been having. Sucks cuz day 1 was smooth even in rattay i was getting like 80fps.

Did you restart the PC again? If so what else is running in background, maybe an autoupdate or AV scan, they usually happen right after reboot. Right?

If no reboot, or watching Task Manager for clues, these are always first troubleshooting steps before whinge thread. Just saying...

same thing here, first day of playing the game was all smooth, im just doing the first mission after you go hunting with Hans, turned off the game after an autosave during the mission and when I loaded back I was lagging like crazy

Mine is back to being smooth and i tried so many fixes so idk which one fixed it, but last thing I did was turn my computer off and push my gpu and ram in a bit . I ended up playing like 3 hours and no problems now.

Ive now tried to reinstall the game and it still doesnt work, im losing my mind over this, might try to downgrade graphic drivers, but other than that im running out of ideas

Do other games run fine? You tried stress testing your hardware?

I fixed the issue a few days ago, it was very strangely a problem with my extension cable, I dont even know why it came into my head that it could be the problem because it never happened to me and other games were running just fine, but after changing the cable, KCD is running just like before. Veeeeeery strange technical issue
EDIT: I dont know why I cant mark this comment as a fix to this thread, so if anybody got the same problems hopefully they read it all the way here :D

At the beginning of the game, at night on the wall where there are guards with torches, FPS drops from 60-70 to 25 -_- (dlls quality,Ultra-high 4060ti, 32, 5600x )
