There are deers, boars, cumans, chumps of the river. Anything you kill will increase your archery, and training (don't remember seeing skill books on archery though).

Rabbits too slow, they are worst target tbh.
Just visit Rattay and train for free(and get payed for wins!).

Go to Ledetchko archery range and you will find a guy there that you can talk to in order to play "Chumps." You need to be fairly decent with a bow in order to win, but if you win it will give you half or more of a bump up for each win.

I got to level 5-10 in less than an hour doing that.

Hunting is the best way to improve archery since it allows you to improve two skills at once, is a source of groschen, and allows you to explore the games hidden gems/secrets, etc.

Training and Chumps gets boring quick.

The OP seems like he wants a quick way to level archery, which is why I recommended chumps. It is indeed the quickest way, and much quicker than hunting with the huge bump you get each time you win. With hunting, you have to find the animal and hit them in order to get a small bump in your archery. Chumps is more of the grinding fast approach, whereas hunting is the immersive approach. Hunting can be really fun, but it's nowhere near as quick.

You're absolutely right. Chumps is the most time efficient way to increase bow.

It's perhaps only a small subset of players who enjoy the hunting mechanics - That and I play with Perkaholic and forget some people still play vanilla.

Honestly for some reasons the shooting log minigame is hard as heck to me.
It's way easier to shoot deers, they are big and stationary, just sneak and shoot 'em.

It can be pretty hard at first. You can actually wade into the water a little past your knees to make it much easier until your aiming starts to even out and get easier.

I enjoy hunting in almost any game that has hunting mechanics. It's definitely a plus that it levels your bow skill while you hunt. I grinded on chumps up to level 10 on my current character though to make hunting a bit easier. Henry's aim really starts to get a lot better around 10.

If you are into cheesing, found this out when picking flowers after finishing chumps; if you have shot all your arrows and walk some distance further into the field the others contestents will stop shooting arrows lol, Move back after a short time and the chumpps dude will wake up and say "last arrows guys".
Guaranteed win if you finish faster and move away with the highest score because of how fast you shot them:P.
Dont like to use it myself but putting it out here that its possible

right, but the problem is that chumps is too hard to win. the targets are too far away

Hunt hunt and keep hunting.
The first time you go out hunting with hans can increase your archery a lot if you’re hitting all the rabbits.

Top tip if you have a specific monitor like an ASUS they have built in cursors so it puts a dot in the centre of the screen when using a bow.

There are certain spots with chumps where the logs are closer than others. It helps to aim at the logs that line up behind each other to increase chances.

Biggest game difference for me when learning to shoot bow was to always shoot as hard as possible, so pull the string back as far as possible. Always at the same moment of the swing of the bow, This way you shoot the straighest and the arrow will mostly end in the same spot, making getting used to is easier, although low bow skill adds some randomness.
This method helped me immensely with both chumps and hunting, or combat for that matter

So the trick to chumps that I found, is wading into the water as close as you can get to the logs, and using a couple shots to find a baseline spot where you will hit one of the logs. Then all you have to do is strafe right in the river following the log all the way down as you keep your aim on that baseline spot. Works every time. I get 18-20 hits per game of chumps with this tactic. Anyone can do it. I encourage you to give it a try next time you try chumps. You will be amazed how simple it gets.

And use lowest bow that does not require to have high stats, it will make your hands more stable.
