They also very rarely eat from the pot, so trying to bane poison the camp really doesn't work.
The smoothest way I had with this mission was to sneak in and get to the archery range and start picking guards off as they went to collect arrows they shot at the targets then throwing the bodies in ruined house right behind the archery targets.
Then from there the only people left were the baron, and a few dudes on front end and the gamblers. They all went to sleep at like 4 in the morning and I got the rest all then.
If wearing nice clothes doesnt get you recognized at the entrance I would I load a save before showing up there, it might be bugged. The very first regular bandit guarding the entrance is who spoke to me automatically to get in. There should at least be a conversation no matter how you're dressed with the guard automatically when you walk up. The quest objective should say something like "announce yourself at the gate" if thats not the objective the conversation will not trigger
The baron is in a small room on the side with the archery targets.
When you walk through the barn with the dice players, its a door on the left. It usually has 1 guard at the door, after I killed a few other bandit's he started filling the empty spots not at the door.
