why cant i equip my weapon?

oke so this game is full of frustrating control issues and how they are communicated is not good at all

one of them is that i need to press to draw my weapon, which the game didnt tell me,

second one is that now that i have a torch in my inventory i keep activating the torch when i press 1 and i cant draw or unequip my sword

stuff like this is really frustrating and takes me out of the experience

but i want to enjoy this game so pls tell me how to fix this problem

You have your torch equipped in your secondary hand, either unequip it or equip the shield there, it goes on that same hand.
*Or equip your two handed weapon again if you use that

When u have to equip a wepon u need to press 1 or 2 and un-equip is olso 1 or 2.
I have my bow on 2 and ax or sword on 1. The torch u need to un-equip again when u have selected it in hand 2, wich is like Apocalypse said, your secondary hand wich carry your shield as well is u have it in the inventory.

It possibly gets a little confusing if you use the word equip/unequip also for drawing/sheathing,
To be clear: equipping/unequipping is done by double clicking on an item in your inventory, drawing/sheathing is done by pressing 1 and 2

but i dont have the torch equpped thats the problem ...

dropping the torch and picking it up again solved the problem but stuff like this makes me really wary that it is gonna happen again

Holding down 1 will equip the torch.
