I keep losing battles
I'm not talking about losing fights against npcs. I win every fight for the most part. I'm talking about large battles. I just did the band of bastards quest and most of the time they all die and the battles are lost. This isn't the first time either. I also lost the battle with the robber baron quest line but i got passed it with parlaying.

So the gist of it is I kill all enemies but everyone on my side dies too fast. Any advice?

I would like to know too, in case I need it when going up the same wall. 😁

One of the key requirements is to advise Radzig to send as many men as possible to the battle. Also, there is a point at which the enemy archers are raining arrows down on your men (an NPC mentions it during the battle). They need to be distracted and taken out as quickly as possible.

There is a makeshift wooden stairwell that leads up to the archers along one side of the wall. Once you get close to them, some of the archers will see you, switch to melee weapons and attack you (thus reducing active archers. Luckily, the stairwell is a narrow bottleneck so you can take them on one at a time.

Edit; Also, there is a bug wherein you will receive an end game notification because your rep with the Pribyslavitz bandits is too high/set to friendly so the game reads the bandits dying as friendlies dying. This might be related to the From The Ashes DLC but I can't be sure. There's a thread on the forum which recommends a fix that changes the bandit faction rep or/and disposition.

I wasn't really talking about that battle. I was able to pass it just fine after sabotaging the camp. I was talking about other battles like from the band of bastards or Bernard's cousin

DLC final battle is okay to let them all die. It still counts as win.
Bernard's battle is tbh easier to negotiate, and tell them to leave, also he should pay a tribute.
Well, I once did it solo. It is not that hard tbh.

In the robber baron I killed all of them with stealth at night (nighthawke potion is a big help), in band of bastards if all your companions die, it does not mean that battle is lost. Poison your weapon and arrows, rush into battle, hit few enemies with your weapon and mount the horse. Your comrades will die quickly but you will continue to fight on horse back with your bow (just don't leave field or battle will be lost) and will win the day (I did).

The battle was lost the second kuno died.

The biggest change i made in strategy, that started leading towards better success, was by having Henry act like a pure aggro tank...

Wear heavy armor (maybe take an aqua vitalis)... move around an poke everything so Henry becomes the only target... keep Henry poking, moving and blocking... just keep aggro...

the "Band (of whimps)" will then work on killing the opponents from behind.

this strategy works best if Henry knows Master Strikes (blocking for the win)

Yep I have heavy armor and masterstrikes. I just probably need to be more aggressive like you said

I meant final battle, Kuno is not needed to be alive to win that. But in "Tight spot" misssion you have to keep him alive, you goal to escape from ambush. so no need to kill every enemy, only those who attack Kuno.

I got a battle lost message right when Kuno died at the final battle. I stayed and fought. I also won but the game treated it as a defeat when i spoke with radzig.

That is strange, I was last man on the battle field and it was won.

I'm doing my second play through now, just completed band of bastard. In final battle got message that Kuno is dead, killed last bandit, Kuno's gang attacked me, killed them. Loot everything that I could (Kuno's gang is not lootable), came to Sir Radzig and told him that matter is resolved. So, Kuno's death dose not affect outcome of battle, and it looks like Kuno and his men all supposed to die in this battle.

Get the best mace you can afford and carry, and make sure your armor is up to snuff. If you need money, get to level 10 lockpicking and take the drunk luck perk, then steal EVERYTHING in the Rattay armorer back room and dump it in Pashek's trunk at the mill. Wait a few days, and you'll be rich enough to afford a decent kit. If you need to train your strength up, go spar with captain bernard.
