Peter the black killed me after death with poison
I chugged 4 marigold potions, ate all the food and alcohol in my inventory, and nothing helped. the bane potion is supposed to reduce -110 HP, this is just a straight lie!

The health potions and the two simple poisons are all "-over-time" effects.

And for Health potions to work, you also can't be bleeding / poisoned / dying at a Health point rate faster than Health-point-over-time of the healing potion...

So, it sounds like just bad luck, maybe ?

Surviving Peter during the first encounter is pretty rare without the use of a Walkthrough. These types of challenges make the game way more fun in the end, imo.

An antidote is also really helpful, btw - it stops the poison damage from ticking, but also check if ur bleeding too.

There is an antidote, but if you have enough health and money you can walk to the baths where you can be healed for coin

the -110 health is, I believe, a death sentence that overrules anything but antidote. It's poison after all; it's not supposed to just wear off.

True, forgot about that. Therefore it's likely a death sentence if you happen to be ambushed at night for the first time, because there is no reason to carry an antidote, since no enemies use poison. You would only survive if you didn't get hit or your armor fully protected you where you got hit.
I insta killed BP with one strike of my sword, I did use poison and took anti poison beforehand. He also didn't ambush me but just stood in my path in full view so I had the opportunity to take precautions. He screwed up lol.

Learn alchemy, it's very useful and make a habit to have extra potions on your horse including 5 poison and antidote.
You can get the horse earlier in the story from Neuhof very cheap, around 600 groschen.
Also you can buy potions pretty cheap from herbalists in the woods, instead of pharmacists.

I laughed harder than I should have at the title.

No regrets. I will show myself out.
I fought him at level 7 he couldn't touch me with master strikes

I've killed him in 3-4 hits, maybe I was lucky enough because I had perks. It seemed like he wasn't as fast as he is in the tournament.

I was under 10 and in hardcore, high level with certain gear is different. So many variables here, you must be hacking or something bro. lol

Can't remember honestly. But it wasn't on hardcore and I've used a lot of potions and had a good armor, mostly from pre-order treasure maps.

I usually take Bivoj's Rage, Aqua Vitalis and Lazarus potion before any fight, these together are great. You can also add Artemisia potion if you have place in your stomach or have Digestion potion with you. This potion combination allows you to stand against 4-5 average cumans and sometimes even more if you don't waste your stamina.

Most of the fights get you some time to quickly save before entering fight, so you can easily save before the fight with Black Peter even on hardcore by simply open your inventory and using Schnapps if you stop before the rope. I was lucky enough to enter the area from the other side so I've noticed there's a rope only after I killed that cheating guy. I assume it won't be too hard on hardcore if you stopped before the rope and had some time to use potions.
