Stinger or St. George's Sword?

I'm on my 2nd playthrough, playing on hardcore mode this time. I like the challenge so far, but I really don't know which sword to go with. I know the stinger is a shortsword, and I know St. George's is a longsword. In my previous playthrough I switched back and forth between a Mace (can't remember which one) for armored enemies and used Herod's sword for everything else.

stinger has a stab damage of 79 slash damage of 47 blunt 3 def 76 charisma 17 durability 86


my sword (My real name is george hehe) stab damage of 72 slash 72 blunt 3 def 110 charisma 18 durability 71.


St georges sword is the better sword. stinger has 7 more stab damage. But thats really not all that much 72 will pretty much act the same as 79. I dont see 7 more points making that big of a difference.


Plus using stinger you get 25 less slash damage 34 less defence 1 less charisma. Though stinger has 15 more durability.




St george is just the better sword in my opinion. Unless i guess if every single strike you make on an enemy is a stab.

Thanks! Yeah I planned on going with St. Georges, I've never abused the walk back spam stab tactic for combat, so no real point in going for the stabby, mcStab Stab sword. I prefer the longsword combos too, but seeing as this sword is already so OP I probably won't even need to use most combos

I always use Herod's sword, because it's the prettiest. Maximising stats is not that important in this game, just use whatever weapon you enjoy most.

I like the Magdeburg sword, a real professional weapon.
