The "no cross dressing" thing annoys me
It says you can't cross dress because of how society was back then but that's demonstrably false and makes no sense in context.

During my first playthrough I did the Theresa DLC largely by accident and when I killed the first Cuman I thought I might be able to disguise myself by wearing his armor. It'd be one thing if I put it on and nothing changed but not even having the chance leaves a bad taste in my mouth and justifying it by claiming realism is a bad.

yeah, i can equip a sword but won't equip armor because "that's for men" even though the armor is clearly going to protect my life?
im just going to assume they didnt have enough budget, the realism thing is not the real reason obviously.
for theresa to equip armor, the sizes would have to be adjusted which requires lots of programming. the whole game is adjusted for henry, so it makes sense.

i agree that it's a nuisance, and i recall being quite bothered by that choice, but it's also not necessary since she can learn the bow and train her in stealth (by lockpicking everything).

so, now i consider it an encouragement to try other solutions.

as long as this is the biggest problem I think the programmers did a great job. About realism: how realistic is it that a more small and thin girl can wear a mans heavy armor (and it fits).
from the programmer side: ofc. they didn't overwork all armor fitting for Theresa only for a short DLC, especially as her part is more stealthy.

Is it? A heavy armor in which you nearly can't move, which doesn't fit would protect your life more than a sneaky fast movement?

not being able to wear a dress as the guy is good. not being able to wear at least the armor that would fit the female is bad

well when i say armor it could also mean any men's thick leather wrist pads or shin guards etc

you did realize that this part of game isnt about being armored warrior, right?
i mean.. you have eyes and you are aware of it... right?
yes, you cant cross dress, because of realism... and this part of game is from Theres PoV and with different settings... and it shouw more less realistic way of how it work IRL...

ill recommend you to go and get book about Bohemia history in that time... or learn how to use google and then find Hussite Wars.
it was few years after situation in this game.
enjoy

i understand what you mean. But this DLC isn't integrated in the rest of the story and was made for the sole purpose giving Theresa more profile and room to develop the character.
They added it very late with other intentions and mechanics as the main game. So they programmed it like this to get no balance problems and unnecessary bugs. The main game is completely set up for Henry, this DLC has to be seen as a seperate short story divided from the rest of the main game mechanics. And it makes sense. As a full integration with armor and everything else for sure it would have been 10 times more work for this small DLC.

It bothered me slightly that the option for armour isn't there. Granted you can grind bow training at the range but it takes a long time for Tess to become proficient. If she could equip armour, at least she would have better defence against enemy arrows.

yeah but being a new player, this DLC is the first DLC that's set up for new players to play. After skalitz attack, henry goes back to skaltiz, theresa saves you, and you talk to theresa and she explains how she survived, and every new player would unknowingly start this DLC.
so from a beginner's perspective, we're introduced to all these armor that cannot be worn by Theresa, even though she's not the main character, the game is set up this way for everyone to play as her like a main character. I learned how to use the bow and arrow with theresa, how to sneak around, how to run in mines, how to use torch, how to sneaky attack a bandit etc. I basically learned the whole game through that DLC, and then after finishing it, i started to play as Henry.

i did not know this DLC was made far later in the game, so it makes sense. i loved this dlc so no complaint there.

3) there is WARNING in that dialogue
4) there is info about it on that DLC store page
ABOUT THIS CONTENT
In the fourth DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you can experience two standalone series of quests.

In "A Woman's Lot", you play as Theresa accompanied by her loyal dog Tinker in a standalone questline. You will experience ordinary life in Skalitz and later witness the fateful events of Sigismund's raid and its aftermath from a wholly different perspective. "A Woman's Lot" provides the last piece of the puzzle in the Skalitz story, as you find out what happened just before Henry is found unconscious.

In "The Madonna of Sasau", Henry has to help Johanka, and old friend from Skalitz who survived the massacre and took refuge in Sasau Monastery, to overcome the terrifying nightmares that have recently plagued her. Henry will need to visit the places revealed in Johanka's visions and find out what’s really behind them. Then he will help her with her new calling. Neither Henry nor Johanka knows what that will demand of them or what end it will ultimately lead to…

isnt possible to unknowingly run it...

that claim is BS just by the amount of people running into it unknowingly bro

part of my job is to design userfriendly interfaces, meaning the user shouldnt end up clicking on something they dont want to end up on because i designed it good enugh so that even the biggest idiot will find his way.

first warning doesnt really tell you that you will be teleported into the mission, unable to just ignore it after accepting it thinking you are still henry. so for anyone who just got the game without looking at the DLCs it comes as a big surprise that you are now locked into this, no matter if you realised that you go into a DLC or not.

the warning in the dialoge is just a "this is gonna take a while" which could just mean that she is gonna talk to you for 10 min straight or you get a long cut scene and after that you are good to go again, instead of being stuck in an DLC for 1-6 hours depending on how hard of a time you have.

what they shouldve done, which nearly all other games that have something like this has do, is to add a yes/no screen that tells you directly after going black in her dialoge "you are about to play the DLC in which you play as Theresa. This Content will take at least an hour and you wont be able to return to Henry in that time." but they didnt go with this.

another thing is that the DLC is placed horrible in my eyes. shouldnt be unlocked until later

I agree with OP, and the spirit of Brienne of Tarth!

Should be\Must be player choice. Not your thing? Ignore the choice if you need to. Simple.

there is ingame screen with info about DLC and how you activate them
there is warning in dialogue
there is special icon for it
and there is even info on store page

ofcourse thats what warnings do - warn you

but you can stil do that if you want
like seriously? what is wrong with you?

like when you have on bleach "do not drink it", your mum tell you to not drink it, social media tell you to not drink it, doctor tell you to not drink it... and then you come and drink it... and blame whole world but yourself for drinking it.

do you need nanny or what?

I was gifted the game with the DLC so I never saw the store page. I just assumed that when I activated her DLC it would open a dialogue tree and then put a new marker on the map.
