It has replay value if you go for hardcore mode.
It also is obscene as in nudity there some sex cutscenes and you can hear moaning when use the washing at washing house as far as I know.
it can be modded afaik and I don't think there is VAC. The only games that use VAC are valve's games -> thumbs rule (you still shouldn't cheat unless it's for private games).
But you should inform yourself a bit about the combat in the game because alot of people hate, I actually like it, and I think the game is worth it, also don't give up at the start till you get master parry ability.
and base game is ok or dlcs r worth it?
The quests are very scripted, some even like RDR2 level of "scripted adventure", but almost all quests can be paused or simply ignored until the player feels it's the right time to progress the story (while the player explores the world, has random encounters, trains his skills, repairs his gear and/or buys upgrades).
I've played KCD for about as many hours as i've played RDR2 (Story mode), and i've also played Fallout since FO3, ES since Morrowind, and a couple Assassins Creed games.
like RDR2, KCD is worth every penny if you don't mind a horse riding simulation.
the KCD combat has more of Witcher feel than like Bethesda games, since there is a fair amount of timing and maneuvering in melee combat (but no roll dodge). However, i would actually compare KCD combat to the old Gothic stuff since that also had direction and timing for attacks and camera lock. (yes, KCD has camera lock)
the open world is not large and but does have lots of camps, caves, and huts out in the middle of nowhere waiting to be discovered by the curious player.
but why
anyways too late i got the game and dlc's
In my eyes it is the most realistic and detailed medieval RPG that exists.
Especially as you really have to train fighting, archery, alchemy and so on in a very realistic way. The atmosphere is extremely dense.
You are at the beginning just the son of a smithy, weak and know nothing.
You really need to train your skills, your endurance, your strength and get good in
fighting by trainingf, so you can be at the end a pretty OP hardcore warrior, thief, assassin,
archer, ....
So if you like openworld RPGs with much freedom and are wiiling to bite your way to the top this is one of the best games I ever played with a fantastic story.
Ubisoft players might not like it.
If you are looking for a game that makes you FEEL like you are a regular young man, born in medieval Europe and everything that comes with that, where taking on a single armed opponent is deadly and anything more than 2:1 is basically a death sentence, this game is for you.
It's a slow burn, with slower paced quests, exploration and combat. If you like slow burn - it's great. If you enjoy getting to know characters and systems - it's worth it!
For reference - I loved Oblivion, Witcher 3, Gothic, Fallout. Was not a huge fan of Skyrim. Struggle a lot with modern RPGs without full voice acting and derivative quests that don't make me feel anything. I really disliked Diablo and it felt soul-less and repetitive.
I saw the footage, videos etc and first thing i thought was in movies like "kingdom of heaven" or "robin hood" 1991 or the 2010 movie, Henry V etc
now when i see dragons dogma, divinity's, the witcher, skyrim, bg3 etc i think about lord of the rings, or willow, excalibur, even narnia, eragon or conan , medieval fantasy.
this is exactly real classic RPG
