While it's nice to have a little more immersion and make you have to be more careful with what you do, I prefer to just be able to save my game easily and without quiting before making certain decisions.
Agree <3
play the game the way you like it, there is nothing wrong with it :-)
the game was always meant to be able to save like every other RPG by simply pressing ESC and 'save', which is why the savior schnapps mod was so easily able to to put it back in the menu at all times, because that's how the devs themselves played the game. It's simply a dumb twist the devs added on thinking it would make KCD stand out from the rest, but was clearly a poor decision on their end in hindsight.
you're fooling yourself into thinking that having to be drunk, or riding your horse for miles to find a bed is somehow more immersive or is how the game should be played, just to save, especially on hardcore mode where you can be out in the middle of nowhere, and a real life (as in real life) issue arises where you need to quit the game immediately and go help your kids and family with something, what are you going to do? Tell them to hold on for 10 minutes while you ride your horse in a video game to the nearest save point?!
Have fun with that, I'll gladly just press ESC, save, and ALT F4
