Funny you say that because I thought the very same thing within the past few days of playing haha.
The open world has very much an Elder Scrolls feel, much like Oblivion as robw mentioned. (when a plate moved with a zone load, i felt right at home).
The closest comparison i can think of, when considering story quality and a sort of "risen" plot, is the Dragon Age, ES, and other similar RPG-like series. Quality varies greatly.
RDR2, while a different genre, also has a very good world interaction feel, and growth path (albeit more scripted) - not quite true "open world", but truly well done in many ways.
I have actually and it seems to be on sale so I think i'll snag it.
I have agree that is it unique and is much like Oblivion but i've played RDR2 and Oblivion! I need something else. I hope people start making games like this more often because there really is just a major lack in content like this.
i agree - there are some others, but they lack in quality, or are very different.
there are some action/adventure-rpgs expected over the next year... ::shrug::

In terms of just the setting of KC:D, altho completely different games, Mount&Blade Warband with the 1257AD mod and Medieval Total War II almost feel like the same world seen from a differently scaled perspective. 3 of my favorite games, probably not by coincidence as a medieval times lover haha
All of these options everyone has listed except one I have played and loved! And the odd one out I haven't tried yet but am quite certain i'll like. Thanks for the response though. I really do find it odd how few of these games there are out there currently.
Looked at these and a few did pique my interest. Thanks for the info :)
I watched the video too, but are very dissapointed. The majoity of the games is "action rpg" diabolo style. Nothing like Kindom Come. The only things that could be good is BG3 and Avowed.
Yep :(
What sets KCD apart from the rest of the herd is the incredible story and voice acting. Second to that is the gorgeous scenery. Look no further than Witcher 3. Story, script, voice acting........ all top of the food chain. Landscapes are gorgeous as well, especially at sunset lol. Ubisoft or Bethesda can only dream of publishing something so intelligent and engrossing and decidedly non PC.
I found that the only game that came close to KCD for immersion was Skyrim. TW3 is almost as good, but blows Skyrim away for its incredible storytelling. As with KCD, you'll give a sh*t about the characters.
They are really good imo
