Running from Talmberg to Rattey back and forth all the time is really aanoying! Where can I get a horse and wahts the cheapest amount that I need for it?

Cheapest is Rocinante from uzhitz . it will cost you less than 500 . it has decent courage so it won't drop you on the ground the first sign of ambush,

As CG mentions, Rocinante in Uzhitz is the cheapest. Great courage, and i like the Hunter Saddle (3),(also only from Uzhitz).

For really early in the game, the closest cheap horse is Boxer in Neuhof. Listed at 600 Gr, it's easy to Haggle under 800 Gr. after moderate Speech and Reputation checks (early game).

Saddles are expensive, so i go without a saddle if i'm playing with little money. Bridles are more important (for horse courage), but also not required for riding.

Rocinante is the cheapest horse if you want to spend money. However early in the game you get the chance to get a free horse if you side with Kobyla. Theres a quest you will need to get a horse for but I don't want to spoiler you unless you want to know.

I just use Pebbles until I can save for Warhorse Jenda. I find spending 500 early for a marginally better horse than Pebbles to be a total waste

Why go cheap if you can go best? Earning money in KdC is so easy, within 2 ingame weeks you should have more Groschen than Hans. The first weapon I buy is Harod's sword and the first horse I buy is warhorse Jenda. It only takes a bit of honest and proper work (which also levels your strength)...

Pebbles is decently fast for a starting horse.

You guys are buying horses? I thought the first horse was already pretty decent aside from the fact that you had to chase down a particular npc.
