This game looks great in third person

Did they ever say why they didn't add a switch for a simple third person mode? Something like that was in Morrowind. Morrowind used NPC animations for third person, but it was still nice to have.

Just my personal preference but I just don't understand the appeal of playing an RPG like I'm controlling a marionette. It kind of ruins immersion for me.

I think the combat of the game really made 3rd person hard. Like if you watch that video...Henry is pretty much getting his butt kicked the entire time and dies at the end. That "Boss" fight is quite easy in the normal/vanilla game. So they probably just disabled it to stop more people from whining that the combat was too hard. Though I feel like they designed the game from the ground up to be first person for the RPG aspect.

I don't know why people think in such extremes. I saw this kind of answer to people asking for third person for Cyberpunk.
You don't have to make the entire game be available in third person. Just add it for walking state - most people use third person in Skyrim simply for walking around. Even just horse riding third person camera would have been fine. Or just add a toggle, keep it jank and stop caring what people think, maybe add a "experimental feature" warning.

Oh yeah, that would be fine...and they added 3rd person for picking herbs. My guess is they didn't make third person animations for "everything". Like I have had this suspicion all these years that you don't actually lay down or sit at a table...your head just sort of floats down and up and your body disappears. There are some tables and beds were you can tell it just isn't right.

You know what, the irony of that never even occurred to me until just now. The devs left 3rd person view out of the game....... except for the one instance in which people absolutely wouldn't want it - the mundane and repetitive task of picking herbs. Good thing somebody released a mod removing the 3rd person herb-picking cut scene.

heh, yeah...it was kind of strange.

Looks good, okay. Completely kills the feeling of role playing the character.
If the game came this way, I would be asking for a first person mod.
I always play games in first person when it's available.

did you play fallout 3? Those games allow you to switch between the two, with first person being more polished usually

I get a bit motion sick and found it was less in Skyrim because I could backup from my character and that helped quite a bit. I am hoping with time it won't bother me as much. I am trying Kingdom Come Deliverance right now and can only stay in it a short time but I am going to try the mod that changes it.
