20 GB patch 2023 ?! ...

That's not how patches work. You may DL a 20GB patch, but it can rewrite 15GB of preexisting code, and only actually add 5GB. Size of the patch has no direct correlation to the size of the game file.

The only point I was trying to make is I don't run modes. After this update I had 178 files that was screwed but FYI, if you do an integrity check that would clean your game up and remove any files or disable any mod usually as in other games so if you do run modes then don't do that. As for this big file that I think screwed up my game I guess only a DEV could answer the best.

delete the localization files (except english) to remove 20 gb of bloat. You can follow my guide on how to do it.

WOW, these devs actually just forced me to waste another 20GB on languages I don't speak with no option not to do so?
Are they actively malicious or just stupid?
Guess this gets uninstalled until they figure out how to deliver optional extras properly.

probably the latter. if you think thats bad watchdogs legion had 40gb of useless languages. at least you can just delete the files instead of them being encrypted.

I mean yeah, you are not wrong there. its just that most devs dont care so they just bloat their games and call it a day but i dont think warhouse studios had any bad intentions. i mean they just added new languages to the game.

The download time for this size of patch is just brutal if you somewhere in the world where you are stuck with a slow otherwise bad internet connection. I could download and install whole games for this space and download time for this. The added insult of it being completely pointless for so many after that and it just taking up a lot room for nothing only makes it worse. If this trend continues with more packs you can end up needing a HDD just for this one damn game.

They should have made this an optional free DLC for those who want or need it. I don't need every language in the world's dubbing on my PC at all times for every game, nor do I want to have to download that just to be able to play and have the game as normal. It's a download, install and waste of space as after it does all that I'm only in a slightly WORSE position as the game is no different for me, but I lose a bunch of space. For nothing!

Seriously, what the actual ♥♥♥♥, Warhorse? Tossing a 20gb patch out 5 years after the game came out?

I'd delete it, if its bloated size didnt take so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ long to download in the first place. Guess I'll just have to play it offline from now on.
