Kill the camp leader
I cleared out the camp and the spurs are in my inventory, but the game still tells me to kill the camp leader, what am I supposed to do?

Well obviously I would look it up. My issue is that I was doing them in order and it got stuck since I can't turn in the spurs.

Yea I understand, Don't think anyone could have foreseen that though, bugs like that just kinda happen.

Alright. I concede. It looks like I went to a different camp that's literally 20m away from the one from my quest since I play on hardcore. Awesome.

Welp, you accidentally did what I had just described, at least you have two quests to submit now lol.

Different camp. Cumans require the ears, bandit camp requires the spurs

OP: There are several camps to clear out. So, keep on going through the quest

The Cuman camps require their quest item helmets, the ears are always optional and appear in every quest camp as bonus items for a little bit more pay for ruin, raiders and interlopers.

As for you OP, if you don't want to retry from an older save, you could try to wait some amount of in-game days until the camp leader respawns and kill him again, see if that works.

this might be right - i never grab the spurs without also grabbing the ears.

i've never tested what happens if i don't also take the ears from the leader.

as a thought - maybe check Lost and Found for any items ?

also, are you sure you killed the right camp ?

There's also a grave digger that collects important quest items you may have missed before the enemy's body despawned. It's in Rattay, in a little house (that you have to lockpick to get in), to the left of the big church next to the Alchemy Bench. Inside that little house is a chest with the important items.

I already tried from a previous save. It just doesn't work. What I've done is I've cleared the camp, purposefully left the spurs on the body so they go to lost & found. Now I'm progressing with other stuff. I'm going to go check if the camp has respawned by now. I'll clear it out again, recover the spurs from lost & found and see if it updates then. I've already tried doing this (grabbing the spurs off the lost & found box) but it still doesn't update. So I'm hoping that if I wait and clear the camp again it will work (doubtful).
Question, everybody talks about the other camps, can I go clear a different camp? The quest makes it seem like it's one at a time.

Yeah, there is "Kill the Captain", who is dead, his spurs in my inventory.

read above. I specified that I already had the spurs so I wouldn't get these comments

Just to be clear again because the OP isn't clear enough for some people. I have the spurs, they are from that camp. The bandit leader is dead. The spurs are in my inventory, they are not from a different camp. The spurs are not in the presbytery. The spurs are in my possession. I own the spurs. I am wearing the spurs as we speak. (I am not, they are a quest item).
With this settled, I however have decided that the best path of action is to intentionally wait for the spurs to go to lost & found, and since recovering them straight away gives me the same result as grabbing them off the dead body, I have decided to wait for the camp to respawn, clear it again and then grab the spurs. However I also have the question regarding whether or not I can clear other camps. The camp I cleared was the one for the quest I did. It was that one, there's no doubt. It's the second camp in "Ruin". West of the gallows hill across the Sasau river. There's no mistake.

Yea it is unfortunate but you've just got to work around the bugginess.

As for other camps, you do do them one at a time, have to submit the spurs or helmets to the quest giver then he will progress you to the next camp.

You can technically do them out of order but only ahead of time. Find a camp, clear the camp, get the spurs/helmet quest item, THEN receive the quest THEN immediately turn in the quest item as you receive the task but you would need to know ahead of time where each camp is located without guidance.

yup - that was my second guess

These quests are pretty stable, but they can become buggy by doing them out of order.

i've done that before - but it usually recovers once you destroy the right camp - turning in the other pair should pop up as an option once u get there in the quest.
