!!! SPOILERS !!! Pestilence. Daniel is not sick.

Just started Pestilence side quest. Everything went fine, but 1 of the sick people, Daniel, is not sick at all. He just works at the garden and not speaking with me. I tried restarting, loading save (Fought with Runt again), came back and he still cant be talked to. Damn, I even moved the game on different disk (I planned to do this earlier so...) it didn't help. When its getting late, he's heading home and goes to sleep, and i still cant talk to him. I know he should've sit on a bench and have delusions, but he's not sick at all. I even saved the game, punched him and he ran away on super sonic speed. Any suggestions on what should i do? If I still can save everyone in a village even if i didnt talk to him, it'll be fine by me.

This is a very old bug by the looks of it. I've found no reference to it on the Steam forums since 2018. I have a few questions:

- Is this the first time you've played KCD? (on a new install) or are you playing on a years-long lapsed install and/or on an old save?
- Do you have any mods installed?
- Do you have any DLC installed?
- Have you tried verifying game files?
- What version number is shown on the main menu screen?

- No it's not, i played about a year before, but this is a new game.
- No i don't.
- Yes, all of them.
- Yes, didn't help.

I think I know why this problem appears just for me.. I did this quest before.
So... Not so long ago I found out that i skipped that quest where you get drunk with father Godwin, so JUST BECAUSE OF THAT, i loaded previous save, played this quest, and kept on playing after completing this quest (no regrets). The main thing is- I finished "Pestilence" quest before, and it went fine. Its most likely the reason.

You mean you passed the persuasion check with Godwin? Because I did that in my second run and Pestilence functioned without bugs, so there may be another cause.

You mean you passed the persuasion check with Godwin? Because I did that in my second run and Pestilence functioned without bugs, so there may be another cause.

Technically its the same run, I finished Pestilence, loaded Godwin save, failed persuasion, and now Pestilence is bugged. Guess I'll use console comands to pass this side-quest properly

If you could op, make this the answer to your post since you answered the question and for others in the future to find if they have the same problem. Can't hurt.

!!!FIXED!!!
For anyone who encounters this bug: I deleted all my saves after getting the "Pestilence" quest, and reinstalled the game. This solved the problem. You don't know how happy I was to see Daniel on the bench.
