Can't open inventory/interact with things

I'm running into a problem where I can't seem to interact with things or open my inventory. Shutting the game down and restarting it seems to fix it but having to do this every five minutes is obviously not ideal.

I'll press I to open my inventory and nothing happens or I'll go up to a container to open it and the container will move as though it is opening but no screen pops up.

Do you have any mods installed and have you tried verifying game files? Also, What kind of control input do you use?

This has happened to me a few times - make a save - restart the game

I don't recall what the circumstances were, but i clearly learned not to do something that was causing it.

It happens to me too, I started a new game and every 5-10 minutes I can't open my inventory. Solution is to close and open the game again to fix it. No, I don't play with mods, I don't do anything out of the ordinary, just play the game and follow the story, it's frustrating to have to save every 5 minutes, it's impossible... Any solutions?

A mi tambien me ocurre, he empezado una partida nueva y cada 5-10 minutos no puedo abrir mi inventario. Solucion cerrar y abrir el juego nuevamente para solucionarlo. No, no juego con mods, ni tampoco hago nada fuera de lo normal, simplemente jugar y atender a la historia.Es frustante tener que guardar cada 5 minutos, es imposible... ¿Alguna solución?

What control type do you use? I believe that having multiple control input devices connected can cause some kind of conflict.

Changing from fullscreen to borderless fixed it for me

For me, it happens everytime I press ECS button in picking herbs animation. No mods installed, playing in borderless.

I was looking for a solution to help someone else and came across this from an old forum, hope it helps others in the future.

"The solution/issue seemed to be the TOBII EYE TRACKING. I never even touched that setting in game and never used anything outside the game using the tobii eye track. I was messing with settings and turned everything OFF in there(ingame settings) and miraculously it was fixed."

In my case, from the moment I started a new game, all keys except the esc key, arrow keys, shift key, and caps lock key could not be used. Always. When I press them repeatedly, they sometimes react, so when I leave the house, I have to press the E key repeatedly in front of the door.
