he worked fine on my previous playthrough
I never realised there was a bug with him but then again, I've never sold anything to him before because anything I have to sell is usually to Peshek the Miller, the Rattay Weaponsmith, Armoursmith or Tailor.
I usually approach Rattay from the south after having sold most of my stuff to Peshek (including unstolen goods) so the remainder gets sold to the people around the Rattay market place near the pillory, therefore by the time I get to the upper high street, I've got nothing left but pockets bulging with groschen.
you do know peshek pays less than others even when the items arent stolen?
or are you doing the chest thing?
The chest thing?
The blacksmiths resell extra items in their inventory every 3-5 days.
Tailors and Huntsmen (Apothecary and Millers) resell extra items every 1 day.
Armorers and Weaponsmiths resell items every 5-7 days.
So, "turning over inventory" does take time, and depends on trader.
Also, sometimes instead of reselling a Trader simply resets, like the Herbalists (back to standard inventory).
certain Main Quest events can also force all the Traders to reset.
With all that said, a most important point is that if you steal all the wealth from a trader, they may Never get money back since if have nothing to resell (no extra items in their inventory).
In this case, they will only get money back in their inventory by a "reset", Or if you put something "extra" in their inventory that they can resell (or, if applicable, have them repair something for you).
Does any of this apply to your situation ?
better not to know about it or youll be tempted
i also didnt do any main quests in those days
i dont steal from shops as i was always afraid of breaking something
ill wait a few more days next time im playing and see if he gets the money
Since Peshek is a Miller who buys stolen goods, is available 24/7. and is right by a convenient fast travel point, he's my go-to merchant. I sell all of my stuff to him, and in a few days, his stock resets, and he suddenly has more Groschen on him.
So I sell even more items to him, which perpetuates a cycle which makes us the richest duo in all of Bohemia.
Yeah, I agree that he is the best strategy to sell stolen stuff due to his quick travel point but I think you get much better prices in Rattay just riding up that hill to sell off the none stolen armor or weapons to those specific traders. The price difference is amazing. As such, Peshek is best for the stolen stuff but my go guy is the trader at the Inn in Talmberg due to selling so much to him due to the location of all the other towns and quests in that area is why that dude has a huge budget. My tip, is to sell stuff to traders in every town your near, so they over time, as you play each will have a higher budget for you may be able to unload all your stuff to each town that you might visit later on. But that one trader in the Talmberg wall castle area sucks though out the game.
