Reputation
It is certainly easy to lose it, but some towns are nearly impossible to raise it. I am trying for the achievement of being well-liked in each town, set at a high 80ish reputation, but smaller towns are included in this requirement but with little ways to prove yourself to them. I always sell at a loss to the one or two I can trade with, but it doesn't seem to affect the reputation.
I don't understand what countryside and quarry want. (spoilers) I did the quest involving a certain stone and a monastery, and unlike my first play through I actually went back to Talmberg to ask the quarry master there for all info and brought back the evidence to him- everything you think would improve his view of Henry since I am going out of my way to show the quarry had no fault and they are good masons- but after the quest, no improvement to their reputation. If that doesn't help it, I don't know what will. There is a blacksmith there, I sell at a loss- nothing.
Trying to get to over 80 rep when half the people are set at 50 wrecks the average. I don't steal or anything like that to lower it- do I have to just grind random bandits outside their houses? It doesn't seem reasonable.
Any help or advice ?

Reputation with any given town isn't solely dependent on killing bandits; it's also connected to what you actually say to NPCs, how you complete quests, and how individuals within each sub-group feel about you. The quarry workers in Talmberg and the Talmberg guards may love you as a whole, but in each of those two groups, there might be some people who don't feel that way. The way you dress also has an impact, as NPCs are more likely to respond positively to someone who dresses nice; they think you're either nobility, or someone who has regular access to the nobility.

I understand how the reputation works in general. But for those quarrymen, how to improve them? The only one to talk to regularly is the blacksmith like I mentioned- or the guy in charge during the quest (which I did all I could to appease him) but to no change.

Keep playing, do side quests in a decent way, behave

U don't have to grind for this or do anything special

I am in Samopesh, trying to get it up right now- heard 'thief!' ran after and fought. He yielded, I got the bread back, gave it to the owner- no change to reputation.

Changes in Reputation can take a while - not always immediate.

But doing things like stopping the thief are the right things to do.

The biggest bump i see for small towns is from helping guards at a Skirmish location (Ambush location, but 2 sets of opponents). Just be carfeul not to upset the guards - these encounters can be a bit buggy - but it is worth something like +8 points if you help them successfully.

Losing in Dice increases reputation too, for some reason, but that might not be the whole town.

Might have to just grind losing in dice- which, like, okay that makes sense.
Coincidentally since my last post, I had a skirmish encounter but it was between cumans and bandits. No change afterwards, maybe its just when guards are involved.

I got the achievement without even trying. Just play the game, do quests, and it'll happen by itself.

Losing in dice is similar to giving a merchant money. LOL

Anyway OP, if you want to gain rep fast with merchants just sell low, buy high, one item at a time.

If you have high negative rep you can go to a church and pay for an indulgence. Like I literally killed all the monks in the monastery except for the immortal Prior, paid for the indulgence and all was forgiven

Winning the Tournament boosts your rep in Rattay by a ton, but only in Rattay. Hunting down Cumans and Bandits will also boost it, but I'm not sure whether it's only where the quest giving captains are stationed or map-wide

Here's a good tip. When you pay for something, haggle the price Up. Your generosity helps build your reputation.

Correct - guards must be involved (and survive) for reputation increase

Saving Traders at Skirmish sites can also affect reputation.

You say you're in Samopesh. Did you kill Black Peter and tell the blacksmith about it.

The biggest kicc in the dicc is the quarrymen of Talmberg are only interacted with twice, with the church stone incident and at the end. Going out of my way to clear their name and help them out with the incident yielded nothing for the reputation. If that doesn't, then it's clear the reputation system isn't good enough. They shouldn't be a separate category if there isn't a reasonable way to improve their reputation.

In a rich serf's world. I'm going for the reputation achievement, tho

I did.
Go to the local church and put money in the box. I just gave the Monastry over 3k and my reputation across the entire map became stable again. In some towns I was again liked.

That is if you are in the negative. I am at the positive with most and my issue is only the base with regions that I can't seem to improve. I've been careful since the start in this run to not do much that would offend people, especially in regions I know have less options to improve
