works perfect if you want a crosshair only to show up when equiping a bow or noone at all.
The dot in the middle of the screen is likely the bow dot reticle.
It is normally disabled in vanilla game, and many of us enable it, either by console command, a "user.cfg" file, or with a mod.
You can check the identity of the dot by doing the following
1. Open the Console Command Window by typing "~" (press enter)
2. type the following: "wh_pl_showfirecursor=0" (press enter)
3. Close the Console Command Window by typing "~" (press enter)
If the "dot" is gone, then it was the bow dot reticle.
If the dot is not gone, i have no idea what it could be.
For vanilla installation, the Reticle if Off (Disabled)
Console Command needs to be used each game start to Enable.
Or, the best way imo, is to use the user.cfg file.

Yes, i understand - the reticle is either always on or always off.
There may be a mod to extinguish or minimize the normal, always-on dot. I dunno... I have always been content with it the way it was designed.
