Where is Matthias?

I have an idea for a video about where your Skalitz friends gone to after the town was destroyed, and I'm trying to look for Matthias in 2 parts of the game but he seems to have disappeared:

1. If you go to Neuhof early (before they were raided), he doesn't seem to be there. The property is quite big so maybe I missed him but I searched every building and he's not there. Theresa says that he is in Neuhof though :/

2. After you save Johanka from the Inquisitor, Matthias disappears from Sasau... I searched the monastery grounds, the convalescence house and the tavern but he's not there. A few characters, including Johanka says that both Johanka and Matthias are together now, but he does not seem to be near Johanka at all

Does anyone know where he is at these two points in the game? Or does he disappear from the game at those points?

Have you checked the Inn in the glade? That's where they go after the mill.

Matthew and Fritz go to the Inn but I have not seen Matthias there before. I'll check again

Matthias goes to the other stud farm in Merhojed. And is moved to the monastery once the plague is dealt with. He should stay around that area for the rest of the game.

Right thanks. I must have misremembered the detail and thought he was in Neuhof

I hope the Plague quest doesn't trigger when I haven't even started the Nightingale Patrol quest yet...

I know that he lies in the monastery after getting sick but after healing him by finishing Johanka's quest he disappeared from my first game. I've seen videos where he should still be there and you can invite him to Pribyslavitz but IDK man, I can't find him :/

Nah the plague is related to events in the main story. As long as you don't advance the plot the plague will never happen.

Yeah took me a bit of time to find him, he should be wondering around the monastery. I found him near the construction workers.

This is pretty much my experience with well over 1000 hours of gameplay.

I have never been able to find him before the Plague in Merhojed.

I have noticed him lying in recovery in Sassau, but then no where to be found - but i never checked back in Merhojed. Johanka certainly never mentions him again during her quests.

I have always suspected he was either bed-ridden or nowhere - but now i'll have to watch for him in the monastery courtyard.

Roberto is correct - no worries for you - Plague is Main Quest item, so it will wait until you get to that portion of the main quest.

Making Nightingale wait is one of my favorite pause points for the Main Questline (i normally do Bernard's Ruin sidequest while making Nightingale wait, which then leads me to Talmberg - with things to do there, etc.)

Nightingale, and the Main Questline, can wait forever.

I don't think any of the named NPC's in Merhojed will talk to you before the plague quest so I never bothered to find him if he is there, but that is where he is meant to be at the very least.

After Johanka's quest they should both remain there for the rest of the game. They say something along the lines of they want to stay until the harvest and then move on. You can say good luck, join Radzig's garrison, or come to your town if you've done the dlc. Since season's aren't in the game they never leave regardless of what you pick.

That said it's implied that Matthias's condition is tied to Johnaka's quest so I'm not sure how/if the outcome effects him as well.

Hmm... Alright thanks for the answers.

In my first play through I murdered a lot of people around the monastery so I fear it might have messed up some NPCs. Maybe that's why I can't find Mattias?

I'm just starting my 2nd play through... Might be awhile before I get to Sasau

Matthias is spawned at Merhojed after completing the fight at Pribyslavitz. Beforehand he is neither in Merhojed nor Sasau. Between Henry fleeing from Skalitz and the plague in Merhojed he simply doesn't exist in the game.
