It is a Role Playing Game...with Lots of "PUZZLES" like this...right?
What a helpful post. So to unpack your cornucopia of wisdom. The name of the quest is cherchez la femme. I watched vids on youtube. I did read several guides. And the game also has a lot of bugs and with this trashcan fire of a game you can never be sure if you are doing something wrong or the game has a tech meltdown. Yeah I bought the game on release. I have seen a lot of bugs. Quite a few of them game breaking.
So thanks for your very helpful post. I asked for help but instead of doing so you thought it was necessary to reveal your character. Very impressive. And sorry. I just got a steam warning and therefor cannot show you my whole gratitude. :)

I haven't done the quest yet (four failed playthroughs because of bugs...) so I'm sorry, never encountered it, but I can confirm your question was at least clear. I hope somebody who knows how to help actually helps.

Thanks. Nice to know that there are still decent people here.

Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. I left this forum for a few months because it used to be unpleasant but now it's calmer here so I'm here yet again to help - if I can. :|

I think you must have read this before, but in Sheep in Wolf's Clothing Hanekin must have got the horn himself or you must have got it from Nicholas. I've also read that he's to blow it around 5 and that's a bit earlier than you were counting on.
If it doesn't help, ignore it, I'm sorry, but that's the best I can do right now.

Other guides don't even mention the horn in this quest. I recognise these quests' names, but as stated, the game prevented me from ever starting them even. >_>

You're welcome. Maybe let us know if it works or maybe I'll assume no news is good news. =)

Keep in mind that broken side-quests are never game-breaking. By definition, game-breaking issues make it impossible to reach the end of a game. Such as a broken main-quest, a 100% reproducible crash condition that would block you from continueing to play the game at all, or savegame corruption.

I was talking about the main quest. For example the baptism of fire battle did not work. The castle in Talmberg disappeared and there was more. You don't have to explain to me what a game breaking bug is.

But... The right definition will make your problem better for sure. *s♥♥♥♥♥♥* (¬‿¬)
I've often heard about that bug in Baptism of Fire, but somehow my game decided to die during Nest of Vipers in my main quest focused playthrough. Talmberg disappearing is a level of hilarity I wasn't treated with. Naisu.
Well, I might hear your report later then, the best of luck, stay positive.

Good God, I'm dead :lunar2019crylaughingpig: I wouldn't be amazed if people just walked all over this castle, doesn't seem to be a good one, easy to take, if you know what I'm saying. :steammocking:
Thanks for that!

I don't "have to", but apparently I need to, because in this topic you talk about a side-quest, and ancient main-quest bugs may have been fixed. Anyway, as I've only reached the end of the game two times without encountering a broken main-quest, I don't and won't put my hands into fire for the developers. Not everyone runs into the same issues.

He's (assuming sex I know) talking about bugs in the past that stopped his progress, he's well aware they may have been fixed. I can't verify this for myself since my playthrough died every time before even getting to Baptism of Fire for instance. However, the topic of this thread is his confusion regarding how to make progress in Cherchez La Femme and that's something else entirely. I linked him to something, he accepted it as sufficient and I hope it'll work.
I'm very happy for you you never had to suffer a broken main quest and that's what we all want when we play, but that fact alone sadly won't really help others who did and hope(d) for a fix. I also never suffered some bugs other had. It's interesting to try and solve. Cheers. \ (•◡•) /

You got that wrong. You didn't need to explain it to me but apparently you "had to". Maybe you should read what I have written and and understand what I was refering to. You don't have to but maybe you "want to".
