Escape from the silver mine
For the life of me, I absolutely can not find the exit to the Skalitz silver mine to complete the King's Silver quest. I keep getting lost and turned around in this underground labyrinth.

I've looked up several game guides and in "draw the rest of the owl" form, all the guides simply tell me to "escape the mine." Youtube videos aren't that much more of a help for one reason or another. Either they get turned around themselves and only by luck find the exit, or spend more time fighting and looting bandits so it's hard to keep track of their location.

Are there any maps that might assist this? A turn by turn walkthrough?

Yes. I haven't found one that's very helpful for the reasons stated above. I can't keep track of their location.

Climbed several ladders up and down and keep running into dead ends and getting turned around.

It really isn't very hard to navigate. In total there are ~3.8km of tunnels, but part of that is inaccessible from where you start at the foot of the shaft. At the 'other end' you cannot (iirc) the entire eastern portion and need to exit to the north, at a choice of several open drifts. I think the entire 'escape' needs less than ~600m of travel. (WAG though, and it might be a hair more).

(You can get an idea of the alignment of the underground workings by noting the position of the shaft housings on the map, as well as the locations of all of the mine entrances (though some of these are blocked by falls)).

If you cannot keep track, drop a small item (e.g. a herb) onto the ground at each junction to eliminate unknowingly going around in circles, and work systematically.

Always head up, never take any ladders down. Other than that, the path's quite straightforward.

Pull out your in-game smart phone (hotkey 'i') open gps and walk north.

see if this helps. Choose different dialogues.
Skip to the parts you need. He enters the mine at 24 minutes..
Refer to your map even place a marker at the other end.. Open map click on the area and press x places a marker. You can see it and head towards it.
Good Luck

In this quest there is only one right way to get out of this mine, the others are blind. You always get the choice to choose one of the two corridors, if you choose the blind one just go back and the last is right. You will also know this by meeting enemies who are here as an indicator of the right path.

Here is how you beat every labyrinth: Always turn right. If you head into a dead end, turn 180°.. and then keep heading right again. Sooner than later you'll get out.

Alternatively, always head left.... there are no shifting walls, so you'll get out with this tactic.

And worse comes to worse, if you can't remember, take a sheet of paper and mark where you go.
Couldn't be bothered with it in the end. Too much of a hassle to find a way out without conflict. Just shot some arrows to the guard and clubbed him to death. Ran out of the mine, problem solved.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
