The night is dark and... I can't see anything
After 1.4+ I can't see anything at night without a torch or potion and a potion makes it about as bright as it used to be before 1.4. Even in the morning its like the light can't break through.

Anyone else?

the screenshot was taken just before delivering Toth letter to Hannush after the night battle that I got through by wildly swining at anything that provided a target, good thing I maxed all my skills and attriibutes before attempting this I guess.

Nightraid, before scaling the walls. Having a very dark conversation.

Thank you so much for your reply, after I tried restarting my computer I can see something at night again. <3 as for not adjusting gamma, im gonna take that to heart. I feel bad about your screen though clearly there is a problem with the game gamma for some people.

If you have changed the gamma the effect is quite odd and I don't quite understand it but it seems to have a 2x effect each time you load up the game. This can effect the game being too bright or too dark and being that you switched off and on again it could have something to do with that. In truth, I find it very hard to tell now what is actually meant to be happening with this game and what is a bug. I was impressed with this game to begin with and I think the concept is great, but I now feel absolutely frustrated and sickened that a game has an effect on hardware the way it has with mine. This issue is a known issue and plenty of threads on it and I think it should be the responsibility of Warhorse to put a warning on this really...Please find a link to a couple of threads and that might have some info to help you out. I also contacted Warhorse about the issue and they said to try this for a gamma fix - try to create user.cfg in the KingdomComeDeliverance folder a write there: r_NoHWGamma=1
and try it.

Its meant to be like that by default, you need to rely on potions or torches for night as there is low natural light sources and very few ways of lighting anything back then.

The devs were going for realism. Night is dark in real life.

Yea I fought the random knight last night and it was dark and I even had a torch. Got so mad because he ran away instead of me being able to kill him. It was so dark he ran towards some bushes and disappeared. I looked all around.

One can always adjust the gamma though..I find myself doing that quite often when getting jumped in the dark. Started when I had to go find that priest in the rain in the middle of the night, and due to hitting the timelimit for that quest I couldn't just wait for dawn.

Night is dark not black, seriously look at the picture, the left side is just black. And like I said, it wasn't always like that. I used to be able to regulate it with gamma, so it was enjoyable, but it doesn't help to adjust gamma anymore. it literaly just makes it look worse.

If you turn down shadow quality, nights become way more visible. High Quality shadows are way darker than low quality ones.

Thank you for adding something constructive but, unfortunately that didn't help.

To be honest the screenshots look fine to be. Maybe just the way I have my monitor calibrated?

Looks fine to me as well and I have seen it darker in game before usually in the dead of night while in a forest.

that screenshot is not dark at all, on my end at least.

I just checked the screenshot on another monitor and I have to admit it's a lot brighter than on the monitor I play on. Guess I'll try to find a way to adjust it, thanks for replies.

Its mediaval age... No electricity... Even nowadays when you go to deeper forrest without flashlight you ll see s h i t so why you should see smth without some source of light in this game? When devs saying they try to do realism? BTW - I think you re new to the game or..? this game is like many others "realism" games - during night - you see almost anything...

Because you should SLEEP during night, OR STEAL things in houses in bigger cities when citizens sleeping... And during day you should do quests, when night is coming (but still is light) , you should again find some good place for sleep for you and sleep till morning... - like in normal life... ;-)

TBH I really like this aspect of the game - the night is rly dark and you cant see anything without torch in nature / forrests / streets in wilderness... I was rly glad to see that in this game and I said to myself : " Finally again the game where I dont have "nighvision" during nights or eyes of the cat"... :) Its night, and when you dont have a torch, you see s h i t - this is da way how its ment to be ;-) :D

I've played 200+ hours and completed it twice. As stated previously it hasn't always been like this. And this might not have been clear enough but the dark scales of grey that used to make up night has turned black. So on the monitor I play. The only thing you can see (barely) in the second screenshot on my gaming monitor was half of Capons face rest was just black. But after viewing it on another monitor I can see how I'm getting all these useless comments about night being dark (thx ino). Thanks for taking the time but I need some technical assistance and was hoping someone had experienced the same and found a solution
