@Admiral Link:
Have you watched my video and still your questions are open? All of this points should be adressed in it.
In a nuttshell:
Riposte (=Master Strike) is activated by just pressing the block key at the right timing (before the green shield appears) and it is performed automatically (no attack button needed) -> BUT: You need to unlock Master Strike via Training Master Strikes with Captain Bernard beforehand.
For Dodge (=Evade) you just need to press a direction button (i. e. move left), when the green shield (perfect block symbol) appears.

I just finished watching it. Now it makes some sense. Before watching yours, I continued to struggle with this mechnic (except perfect block) and watched a few more videos but it was before the update.
Yes I already unlocked riposte from Captain Bernard for Sword and axe. Mace I will do it later once I fully master riposte for sword and axe. Did you say if I match the enemy's stance then I have longer widow to respond for a riposte? Ex: if enemy weapon is up and I put my weapon up or if he puts it his left then I respond on my left, I have extra time to riposte?
Question about clinch. How do you activate it? I watched another video saying you spam pressing F.
Gonna train some more tomorrow. No point going off to battle if I can't master ripostle and clinch. Oh ya need to strip most of my chainmail and other armour as well.
Weapon stance: Correct, when you match same stance as the opponent (over head vs. over head) the activation window is slightly longer. Also higher Warfare skill will expand this activation window.
Clinch: You just run/move into the opponent to start clinch. To win the clinch try to hit as early as possible attack (mouse click) or special attack (F) after clinch animation started. Also here a higher Warfare skill and perks will help to win easier.

Thanks. I think I got it... Not sure but when I was in heavy armour, if I tried to ripostle somehow I move into Cap. Bernard's left or right (dodge maybe but I didn't press any direction key). But ya... I have the slowest reaction time because by the time I noticed the green shield I performed perfect block.
Light armour helps a lot to dodge.
But looking at him just seconds before attacking is a bit hard that I miss or pressed it too quickly. During my time relearning master strike, the instruction said that if I use an axe more proficiently then it is easier for me to perform master strike. Is that correct?
Hopefully you are able to look at the screenshots of me attempting master strike using full armour.

@Admiral Link:
Yes light armor increases the dodge window - or lets say with heavy armor you will have a penalty - which is logically, just try to dodge with 30 kg armor ... ;-)
Regarding master strike, it is correct, that with higher skill level the activation window will also increase.
Just practice and when you are feeling comfortable -> go and bash the bandits and cumans!
One correction regarding skills ... my understanding is, that the warfare skill increases the activation window not the weapon skill.

Sorry I got busy that I didn't have time to play. I should have time soon. Although I have some idea of the combat system. If I have anymore I'll let you know.
