you just need to wait for the next one, and pay the fee again I assume

It repeats every week. Sometimes I will drop everything I'm doing (if it's possible) and ride from the furthest reaches of the map to make it in time for the tourney the next morning. Last go round I missed two IIRC.

Don't worry, it can be repeated as much as you like, which makes it FANTASTIC for improving combat skills. The day before the tourney, you'll get a quest notification that the tourney will take place the next day. The reward's different each time, but always one piece of a specific armor set.
