got a save file?
is it possible in the PS5 version to download the HD-Soundpack and HD-Textures?
if so, try either using them or uninstalling them and reload your last save file to see if that helps.
try the same with the DLC thats suspected to cause the problem.....uninstall, try, install, try again.
did you sleep with Stephanie? :D
It's possible to fix it by pressing "alt+enter" a few times. Sometimes I have to hold it down. Sometimes I have to push it like 30-40 times but normally it comes right.
Give it a shot OP - it worked for me.
Do a google search. This issue is all over the place, there are literally hundreds of people talking about it on Warhorse forums. Don't know what use providing a screenshot of a black screen would be?!?!?
I believe it is caused by either a specific graphics driver or possibly even device specific.
OP, could you list your hardware?
Mine is 5600x cpu. 6700XT GPU. Samsung 980pro SSD. 32gig DDR4 3600 CL16. Game is lightning fast except for these load screens - which might be the problem? Maybe it doesn't handle brand new high end pcs well?
i read that some people got through this problem on PS4 by cancelling the conversation before the cutscene (or/and cancelling the cutscene itself) and opening up the PS5 Menu Screen by pressing the PS button so the game sits in the background while loading.
that sounds similar to what you explain for the PC version
PS5 has a similar GPU to mine. I wonder if it is caused by the AMD GPU/driver?
There is a mod that folks with the issue use to force a save right at that point - but i have always simply used Ultimate Saving mod, and do a manual save myself.
I think i encountered this bug and the one in Baptism By Fire at least once each - reloading a recent save fixed it for me and hopefully works for you...

The video shows running the mod - called cheat mod from nexus if you read the author's description of the video
https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/106
i, however, just use a different mod to create a save before the problem, and then restart, and usually make it past the problem with a reload (like most folks)

Using one versus the Other ?
During the Loading Screen, the game has already progressed past theCutscene, but for some reason cannot load properly - the Cheat Mod forces a save of this updated game state After the Custscene - so that is the benefit of Using Cheat Mod
However, Cheat Mod mod has been known to cause other problems and incompatibilities - so put it last in ur Mod load order at least
I can't reinstall right now because I'm at sea with limited internet allowance. And people said they tried it and it never helps.
Cancelling the videos was obviously the first thing I ever did after the first crash because I wasn't gonna rewatch them after every crash.
I can't install anything sadly due to being on console.
The general consensus is this - my playthrough is done. Over. Start over and maybe you get to see the end. I'm not gonna do that. I'm too pissed off being a fetch boy for the entire story.
I've done at least 100 hours on this save and it's over. I'm not gonna platinum Red Dead 2 instead. That game is flawless.
Loading previous saves does nothing.
Going to menu during cutscene doesn't help.
I am not gonna post any proofs any time due to the limited internet, sorry. I have no reason to make this up.
I don't get how a game breaking bug like this is around since 2018. That's criminal to me.
I am usually the guy that dodges all game breaking bugs while others struggle. Not this time...
It's odd how a game can make you dislike it the more you play it and then ends in the most garbage way possible.
you had bad luck, maybe sometime with a fixed internet connection you can try out some of the tips involving redownloading DLCs or the gamefiles.
good luck
I'm sorry I can't help you there, OP.
OP, as likely mentioned above, validate KCD steam game files (look up how to). Go back a save game and play forward to see if resolved, if not, go back further in save games, rinse and repeat. Nuclear option is to start a new game.
I HAVE had this happen too me multiple times on multiple playthroughs with the trebuchet scene, had to quit out of the game by terminating the process, typically though it would not occur after I restarted the game a single time, not sure why. I have had long/infinite load times after using wash bins, especially in rattay so I always felt like it was something to do with the game handling too much in the background at the time of the load, not sure how you would control it, especially on console but it's something to think about I suppose.
One way that might work would be initiate the cutscene at noon since the sun is straight up in the sky, rendering fewer and smaller shadows, which actually will put less strain on the hardware/game. It's a long shot but what ya gonna do.
