I really dislike every town that does not have at least a Blacksmith (...ahem...Uzhitz)
Pryb is too far out of the way - and again no Tailor (i only run HC, and no Fast Travel)
Recently i've been hanging out in Talberg Town a lot - just wish the bed at the Inn was better than "above the chicken coop" (chickens stink).
But i have also hung out a lot in Sassau - it's a real good town with lots to see and do
I just wish ALL the roads were wider - like, everywhere.
Rattay is super convenient. Pretty much everything along a high street from one gate to the other and I can pay for my beer by shooting a few arrows across from the pub because the locals never run out of money to lose in those competitions. Slap Robard about a bit with the 'practice' mace, do some tipsy alchemy, get my gear fixed up, sell my loot, drop off a dress for Theresa, see the girls at the bathouse then back to sleep with Hans in his bedroom before midnight without once getting trapped in somebodies back yard. Jobs a goodun'
Uzhitz looks good but this village lacks so many things to be a decent main residence.
I often cross Ledetshko, but I never stay there (I hate the innkeeper). I prefer Kuno's camp if I am to be nearby, or I set up my camp in the wood if I'm hunting.
Sassau, later game--good hunting, bandit camps to exploit, access to Monastery, good range of merchants including alchemy bench. Not far from Skalitz, good inn (always buy a room), good farkle games.
I'm fond of Ledetchko and Talmberg and will stay there when I'm in the area. Ledetchko has Chumps (very important) and good hog hunting, and is just a hop skip and jump from Rattay. Usually buy a room in ledetchko.
Three beds in Talmberg and easy access to Prib and Skalitz and, IIRC, the innkeeper will buy anything. Quick access to Robard.
I like the game ...hard to decide which is my favourite.
- It gives me gold for doing nothing
- No poaching on any game in all the forests around it
- Decent opportunities to fight rogues/bandits
- Lots of stores (unless they're forever bugged: Trader, Butcher, Armoursmith in most if not all of my game saves)
2) Rattay
- The market has everything you'll need. The Armoursmith and Swordsmith sell some of the best items in game. They've never bugged like the ones in Pribyslavitz IIRC.
- Henry can use the Alchemy Table in peace.
- Theresa and a fence miller are just outside the gates
- Bath house is conveniently placed between the city and Theresa. Easy to take baths before going on date nights.
- The main door of the white house on the Bath House can be used to power level Vitality. Walk towards the door and keep jumping. It cancels the jump animation and you'll jump nonstop until you run out of Stamina (gives 3% to 5% towards a level of Vitality). Pick the locks on the doors after midnight for some early Lockpicking levels too.
- Lots of Taverns / Inns for Farkle
- Lots of activities (e.g. mini quests and Fight Club)
- Power Levelling combat traits and abilities with Bernard
- Weekly Tournaments with great rewards
- Central location for most pieces of the Ancient Treasures (requires From the Ashes DLC)
- A Tier 5 horse is available in a nearby town. With Heavy Duty Pony horsemanship trait, Noble Horse shoes, and Nobleman Saddle + 4 bags, it can carry over 500 lbs while still being MUCH faster than Pebbles.
3) Ledetchko
- The ONLY Archery contest in the game that actually levels up Henry's skill on using Bows
