This is a different answer to most - it isn't which is the most stronk.. but which was to me the most fun.
In practice, once you get your hands on a Longinus or a St. Michael's, even ad mid-tier levels, you're going to do some nice damage in any case, they are eminently useful swords, too. The St. George is just the top of the top-tier group.
As for other longswords, the Fearnot and Magdeburg are very respectable, too, and very handy for early-game Henry when his strength is advanced beyond the rest of his stats.
God be with ye.
This is a pretty important point. Using a weapon you do not have stats for messes up your speed and lowers your to-hit chance... And enemies will more frequently counter you and master-strike you, while you will be less able to defend/interrupt their combos
St. George’s Sword :
Stab = 72
Slash = 72
Blunt = 3
Defense = 110
Durability = 71
St. Michael’s Sword :
Stab = 58
Slash = 58
Blunt = 3
Defense = 109
Durability = 75
Longinus’ Sword :
Stab = 68
Slash = 55
Blunt = 3
Defense = 111
Durability = 77
There is also a DLC sword (From The Ashes DLC) :
Tusk :
Stab = 58
Slash = 58
Blunt = 3
Defense = 104
Durability = 100
You will hardly notice the difference in durability given how close those numbers are 71-77. I have not being concerned about the durability of the St G. It holds up well enough to dispatch several enemies in a battle. It does not eat Blacksmith kits to repair it in the field. Supplying damage to the enemy is the first concern, then durability.
The best longsword is of course the St. George's, but it is actually too powerful for my taste. If you manage to master-strike Runt's first attack, you'll one-shot him. So I usually go with the Magdeburg sword, cuz I also use the Magdeburg armour, it's my state capitol and I studied there, so there's that
au contraire, lad, the St. George's is hilariously expensive to repair in the field. I thing 5% damage eats through an entire blacksmiths kit if I remember correctly. It was the reason I switched to an Axe. Long swords are in general quite resource-expensive.
