Good luck with that.

Incidentally, I'm not sure the Warhorse Studios guys (some of whom read these threads from time to time) would be very happy that you're encouraging their staff to leak information about the development.

because while it can be good to generate interest with the game. Its not the only side of the coin.

Yes that's right, but Warhorse Studios first have to legitimately throw the bone; a low level dog's-body at Warhorse Studios doesn't have the right to just jump up on the dinner table and snatch the bone.

I want to know about the sequel too but just have some patients and wait like the rest of us..

Exctly. Considering the games media controversy surrounding the first game, any kind of industrial espionage before the game's launch could be another arrow in the quiver of activist games journalists. KCD was lucky to get the sales it did considering the smear job Warhorse received.

Not when it's leaked. When game developers want people to discuss something they do official releases and often with gaming media companies.

There's no such thing as bad publicity unless you blatantly lie to the gamers about what to expect. I trust Warhorse not to jerk us around like that so anything they let 'out of the bag' can only benefit them.

We know that one of the programmers let it slip that they're using the newer Cryo engine, so that's good news.

I just hope that the sequel isn't so future-proof that my PC can't run it.

I wound up spending way more on my PC to get it up to speed (for KCD) than I initially thought I would, but considering that I'm at way over 500 hours it's still a bargain.

Bottom line is, I'll sell a kidney to upgrade for KCD2.

Razorfist's rant on that SJW bullcrap was precisely I bought the game, as a matter of fact.

I didn't know that Razorfist did any content on KCD........ interesting.

All I know of Razorfist are his scarce appearances on Louder With Crowder and the fact that Styxhexenhammer666 is basically the "Son of Razorfist".

For you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoYcxYz_kwk

Also, FWIW, Warhorse was knocked a bit for releasing its initial game with more than a little jank to it, something that maybe a couple more months in the regression test oven would have overcome had they just waited a little longer; easier said that done, though, since they had already delayed the game release date twice before. Even if a post-release hotfix corrected the vast majority of the initial issues, it still wasn't a great first look.

The old adage 'there's no such thing as bad press' only goes so far. I remember when Witcher 3 got the sobriquet "Glitcher 3" just because of the huge amount of bugs (there are entire libraries of videos on Youtube poking more than a little fun at them for it).

I guess in the end there's a balance of hype v. deliverables: too much hype sets unrealistic expectations in the game community, thus the flaws stand in greater relief to the disappointment of the buyers. Sometimes, the less said, the better, a lesson I think that Dan Vavra has learned over his many years in this field.

Just my 2 groschen.

Now that I think of it, Crowder was where I first heard of him, Then I re-discovered him later and fell in love with his 'Metal Mythos' bits. The guy likes black metal, has a huge vocabulary and a potty mouth. What's not to love ?

I need to check him out again as I forgot he even existed. He is probably better than Styx because Styx talks a big game but ultimately gets on my tits.
MF Apr 9, 2021 @ 5:24pm
He and Styx have a mutual admiration society, methinks. Razor is the full meal deal though. Great sense of humor and usually on the ball. I don't share his love of hair or power metal, but I still learn loads every time I watch one of his mythos vids. As for gaming, he reminds me a lot of 2kiloton and Upper Echelon - they all have a pretty jaded view of the industry and don't pull punches. So when kiloton and him both creamed their pants over KCD, I knew I had to check it out.
