is there a way to side with the Hungarians or is the devs consider it?
Hi I have heard great things about the game but I also know that that when the game came out the Hungarians are the main baddies in the game which does not go well with me as I am Hungarian. Has this changed or are the devs considering adding it as a DLC or something?

Its only a game dont take it personally that the cultures used are some sort of reflection on your culture or history.
Besides the soldiers represented were rogue Cumans

It is set in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia, an Imperial State of the Holy Roman Empire, with a focus on historically accurate content
The story takes place during a war in Bohemia in 1403.
On the orders of Hungarian king Sigismund, Cuman mercenaries raid the mining village of Skalitz, a major source of silver.

One of the survivors of that massacre is Henry, the son of a blacksmith.
Destitute and vengeful, Henry joins the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla, who leads a resistance movement against Sigismund's invasion.
As Henry pursues justice for his murdered family, he becomes involved in an effort to restore Bohemia's rightful king and Sigismund's half-brother, Wenceslaus IV, to the throne.

The game features branching quest lines and an open world environment which encourages immersive gameplay, and includes early 15th century period-accurate weapons, clothing, combat techniques, and architecture, recreated with the assistance of architects and historians.

You can avoid the main quests and just explore building up your skills, it's a fantastic game and a lot of fun. It is recommended to take your time and do side quests like finding nightingales or weeding a garden in a church tons of side quests fun stuff.

Historically, the Kipchaks (Cumans) were not Hungarians, they are Turkish nomad people. Ladislaus the Cuman become leader of hungary and crotia 1272 to 1290. And till late 14th century they were christianized and used as special guard by the Hungarian King Sigismund of Luxembourg. They had their own language and some special rights in hungaria.

With Magyarization in late 18th century they become hungarians.

In this history line (Kingdom Come) they are intruders of the Kingdom of Bohemia. Under King Sigismund with a German knight Markvart von Aulitz as Leader. So we could say, kind of bad guys.

As a german, I can say, know your history, somehow it is part of you, but we are not responsible for, or committed to patriotism. Because we will find bad guys in every part of history.

In other words, for me, I can totally enjoy to kill some Nazi Germans in other games. ; )

but for your question,

there is no plan released for another DLC. And you can not play the cumans.
We hope they will add mod support.
and maybe then...

Why? The cumans are basically asiatic mercenaries. You don't fight against actual hungarian in this game.

Well given that you the player, can steal and kill innocent people. It's no different then what bandits or cumans do.

The difference is you can choose to be the good guy, and what you ultimate do through the main quest brings back stability to the region.

good or bad is irrelevant to the main plot only certain chooses made during main quests. Even if you had a low rep in Rattey the main plot would be effected.

Most RPGs have a story linked to them, the story for this game is that you are fighting against the people who slaughtered your family and village. If you play skyrim you HAVE to become the dragonborn, there is no choice for it not to happen. In the Farcry games you can never join your enemies. Mass effect you can't join your enemies, Dragon age, once again you can't join the darkspawn, Assissins Creed doesn't let you be a templar. Etc, etc, etc.
Almost every RPG has an enemy you are fighting against whether the developers are massive or small why should this be any different.
To me it is much more unrealistic to expect Henry to want to support Sigismund's invasion after what they did to him.

In regards to dragon age, darkspawn were the enemies but you have more factions to choose between throughout the game compared to KCD which has no factions to interact or side with. Heck even your starting class and race would change how the opening act played out.

Well it doesn't label them as factions but you can choose who you help, a good example is the miller quests, basically you are joining the thieves guild/faction. And even in Dragonage the "factions" you joined had next to no impact on the game, it was still about stopping the darkspawn invasion, much like this is fighting against Sigismund's invasion. The only impact of the factions in Dragonage boiled down to clicking on the mages or templers for "support" or the werewolves/elves etc.

Edit: Yes I admit I loved dragonage but the choices really were not even slightly deep. And don't forget that was a MUCH bigger developer with probably 10x the resources at their fingertips than Warhorse.

And as the OP stated in the opening post, he wanted to join the games major enemies, so to use the dragonage example, that would be joining the darkspawn not any of the minor factions.

Obviously, you would prefer to play an antagonist role. Sorry, the game is set up as resistance to an invasion and the default faction is the loyalists. You can still play as a murderer and thief if you want. Those skills are available in the game and it makes interacting with merchants, city authorities and the nobility harder. I prefer to impart some nobility and goodness to Henry as he grows and learns in his quest to avenge the death of his parents and sweetheart. Call me sappy if you want but I like that he falls in love again and works to try to help the people of his country.

If this were an rpg series where you made your own character then yeah, maybe you could side with the Cumans. However KC:D has a defined player character with a set story path (not a bad thing, just less freedom of choice). What you're asking for would be like playing the Halo series and being Master Chief, badass defender of humanity, and siding with the aliens who are hellbent on destroying/enslaving humanity. lol

Where do you get the idea I want to side with the antagonist? I was just highlighting the player chooses throughout dragon age as someone mentioned.
