Awfully slow cutscenes but fast gameplay
Only played for around 3 hours but any cinematic moment inlcluding the story introductions that plays on launch runs at 2 FPS. In game I get a solid 60 without any sudden drops. Tried the 'r_VSync = 0 sys_MaxFPS = 144' fix but that didn't make a difference. Everything looks fine in task manager. Anybody know that the issue may be?
GTX 1080
Intel i5-8600k
16GB RAM

After alt-tabbing cutscenes play properly for a few seconds before slowing down again
Edit: Changing graphical settings makes no difference SSD/HDD have same result. Also audio stutters

have the same problem. But it's probably broken as intended for that "cinematic" experience :-)

Will I miss much of the story if i just skip cutscenes but still pay attention to conversations?

yes. A whole lot

Well dang, literally not watchable in game so I'll just watch the cutscene on youtube whenever I reach it in-game

All I can say is make sure you verify the game cache and check your drivers are up to date. You have better specs on your computer than I have and I am much more likely to have issues with FPS drops in large towns like Rattay than anywhere else and never have problems with cutscenes. The only other solution is make sure that you have no other programs running in the background except for your antivirus (which could also be causing issues) and run the game in full screen mode at your native resolution.

Edit: As mentioned above you will miss way too much of the game if you just skip the cutscenes to the point that you will not have any idea what is going on in the game.

Why the hell did I never think of manually disabling vsync... no more stuttering. thanks!

It had to be a simple solution, since I disabled my vsync by default to try and get better performance I didn't realise it would be that simple. Enjoy the game, you really need those cutscenes.

Where are you turning off vsync? In game or on your monitor?

In game.

Some cutscenes seem to stutter if there are weather effects active, mine can get really bad when you first come across Runt due to all the rain. The rest seem to work fine though, maybe lowering the effects may help.
