Are you playing with increased inventory?
How common is it to use an increased inventory mod or edit the files to do it? If I don't use it I tend to be annoyed at how often I have to fiddle with the inventory, and when I do it seems to be affecting other parts of the game. For example, the xp gain on the houndmaster skill.

Maybe I'm just not doing it right..

Anyway, what addons are you guys using if any?

Trust me, don't bother. You'll spoil your game. At first, you can hardly carry anything but that's no problem. As your strength increases (the easiest stat to max as it increases by picking herbs as soon as you have a certain perk) your carry weight limit will increase too. Also, you'll have tons of Groschen soon enough and you won't even bother looting anything that isn't at least worth 100 times its weight. Finally and most importantly, when you have a horse and equip it with saddlebags, you'll never lack inventory space again.

got a horse?

As the others have already said: there's no need for an increased inventory mod. A horse with some decent saddle bags is everything you need. There aren't any magical bags of holding in Bohemia.

As for the mods, here is my mod list:
  • A_Fist_Full_of_Groschen_2.1
  • FlowgraphHook
  • No_Helmet_Vision
  • Optimized_Graphic_Presets
  • Perkaholic
  • RoadsAreRiskyDangerousComplete

The only other thing I did was to add a line to my config file to retain the reticle when using a bow.

i hacked my weight half way through my first playthrough.

i am a hoarder - i like to have several options of clothing - and i hated running back and forth to the magical everywhere chest just to change my gear (honestly - if ur gonna have a magical everywhere chest, then just increase personal inventory space)

some people are against this, but they also tend to be the ones that go and get a horse right from the beginning. I actually prefer to play the game for a while simply walking and running around - pretending i get directions that lead me through forests and such (and i've found many "interesting sites" doing so).

i did sort of enjoy the limited inventory for a while, and my current weight limit is not significantly higher than the base game. And the base game inventory does increase farily rapidly with Strength increases - and then again when you do finally have a horse.

And overweight just means you cant sprint - which i do encounter while carrying thousands of dandelions early in the game :)

The game is very well thought out. And esp when you consider that it is a real rpg--meaning it's all about immersion and, as much as possible, realism. You can't realistically carry three longswords and a shield and an axe and a mace.

And if, in game, you do, you only have access to one weapon at a time--one melee weapon and one range weapon. Even then the change over from bow to sword is not instantaneous. I suspect the devs deliberately designed it that way.

You can't change armour or clothing on the fly, either. Yes, you can access the player inventory and swap things out, but it breaks immersion more than any other thing I've encountered. And if you're in combat, time slows but it doesn't stop. You can get hit trying to swap out your Magdeburg longsword for a Raven's Beak.

Just think about it--who would, IRL, expect to change from civilian clothes to full armour while being ambushed?

Getting a horse (one of the first things I do) gives you more than enough carry capacity for almost any event except farming Skalitz with the "take all" option. The interesting thing about the horse is that you can wander around almost all of Bohemia on foot if you so desire and except in the monastery and Vranik all all the items your horse is carrying will still be available to you even though the horse is all the way across the map. Maybe not entirely realistic but convenient.

Bottom line...like a lot of mods--it's an answer to a question that never needed to be asked.

And, beyond all that, esp. if you mod extensively on your first play-through, you'll miss a lot of the wonder and brilliance of the game...never to be regained.

The only time I switch clothing is when I am going into a camp in stealth mode. I just wear a dark gambeson, black padded coif, black tights, and carry silent shoes and hunters' gloves. When I go into stealth I remove any metal armor and get my conspicuousness, visibility, and noise down,

Yeah, that's pretty much the way I do it too.

Only reinforces the point that Henry doesn't need an extensive wardrobe... which pretty much makes a carry weight mod superfluous, esp. if you have a horse.

Actually, in late game, I can carry 61lbs. of armour pretty easy and several weapons, food, herbs, etc.. 206lbs total, IIRC. And with a Noble's Saddle with four saddlebags my horse can carry a complete replacement set of armour in case I get into a skirmish somewhere a long way from repair (I also carry repair kits too, FWIW) no problem. So much so, that you can transport the carcasses of one or two boars to a butcher.

Again, that's not as realistic as real life gets but why use a mod that takes it all into the world of fantasy? That's some other game, it's not KCD.

Mind you people will play the way they want and feel most comfortable with, and it's not a problem... not as far as I'm concerned at least.

But those are my rationales. YMMV

Have you encountered anything weird by increasing weight limit? At first I noticed that my dog lost obedience incredibly fast, and Im not sure if my other skills are increasing slower than normal.

Nope - never noticed any of that, but the game is rather easy once you level up, so slower XP wouldn't be a bad thing.

I've tried using the dog, and it's okay at low levels, but makes the game too easy.

Each upper level in the game is harder to get than previous levels (more XP per level) - and the increased XP per level does not seem linear to me.

You'd have to repeat a level 1 to level 2 comparison under both conditions to be certain. Might just "seem" that way.

Get the most expensive saddle (Nobleman's) and use appropriate perk for your horse enabling it to sacrifice speed for carrying capacity. My Jenda can haul over 500 pounds of swag for me. My current Henry can saddle up carrying 250 pounds so that's a ton of stuff to take to the merchants.

The architect mod looks very very interesting. I'm going to check that out THANKS !!

I'm building Prybislavitz (again) and for me that's one of the most rewarding feelings. Each time a building goes up new and the game gives you that view of it in its pristine condition, with the wind blowing and the new tenants giving it the broom....... can't say how much I love that.

Be sure to "Save Early - Save Often" - the mod has some quirks. Reload is sometimes a critical save.

Note 1: You can rotate items by pressing R and then using mouse scroll - pres R to go back to item selection.

Note 2: There is a washtub in Architect that allows you to Completely Clean Everything in your inventory - very cool and should exist anyway - so i make "Laundry Stations" at certain Inns and the Farm in Rattay where i spend a few hours every couple days washing my gear :)

I agree with you, if you can have a magical chest all over the place, then why not just increase inventory weight. I used a mod that gave me 200 max starting weight, not a lot more but helpful then it increases with perks.
