tbh in my opinion thats all good if you want to play the good guy. you can, in hardcore, as soon as you get to ratay, steal the entire armoury and wepon shop. Use what you can with your stats and keep the rest in your stash.
It also kind of feels better for Henry to get his first armour from Talmberg and later Rattay during the respective quests, perhaps do some minor trading before Homecoming and upon arrival in Rattay, also looting enemies en route.
I feel better no longer wearing any of the Cuman gear, though of course it helped me get to the point when I was able to dispatch a certain Peter and get better stuff, if only by just a little.
On my last run I spent extra time bulking up to the point where I could arm myself with a halberd (required strength level 14 if I recall). When I got tired of terrorising the citizens of Skalitz, I initiated the Cuman attack. Long story short - with a halberd they don't have a chance.
I did it. Slaughtered every last Cuman with a halberd. Fun times. I'd never do it again though lol. Too much prep work levelling up strength and stats.
I did the same thing in my hardcore run and felt the same way a little. But the thing is that once you play KCD... on hardcore or normal... you can never be innocent again. Your next play-through... on hardcore or normal... will be a little 'familiar.'
Same thing... and a word to the wise... referring to and watching walk-throughs on YouTube. Once the video ends, you can never be innocent nor a free agent..., esp. with regard to that part of the story... again.
Don't do it kids. If you run into confusion and uncertainty come and ask about it here. Most will answer without spoilers if at all possible.
