Black Peter and the blacksmith's son questline is from Samopesh I believe
Black Peter has to do with the blacksmith n Samopesh. 'Pestilence' is the quest that pops up right after you take out Runt and takes place in Merhojed. I ignored it as I just wanted to do my own thing for a while, and also because Johanka just annoys me to no end.
When I finally decided to go thru with it, I was informed that the prisoner had died - I won't give that spoiler away. I only gradually noticed that the place was eerily empty. Oh damn....... this game takes its storyline very seriously.
I'm wondering if any of the NPC's will respawn. As I mentioned in another thread, every member of the BoB re-spawned after they were supposed to be dead. Even Jakey, who I killed myself. It's very creepy when the game does that.
I'm still wondering if Fritz or Matthew will turn up again. I sorta murdered them for pissing me off in my previous playthru. It was karma.
I'm not sure where you are with the quest; did you start the quest and then leave the area? Or did you wait a long time before going to Merhojed before talking to Melichar?
Either way, once you complete the quest, in whatever fashion, eventually the town population and animals will repopulate, but it will take a while, I think at least 7 game days.
I never really got to actually 'do' anything. When I showed up only Melichar was left and he told me that the prisoner was dead. Ruh roh........ no probs though as the game gives you a way out of that conundrum as well. I was pretty happy to be able to skip all that stuff involving Johanka and the cure etc. I only wanted to get quest stuff out of the way so I could finally do 'Rattled'. I wanted Zach back in Prybislavitz to add to my bottom line lol, but I had to get 'Pestilence' and 'All That Glitters' done in order to open that one up. (I finally understand why it only opens up after 'All That Glitters'.............. I've been doing that quest wrong
It was only a bit later that I really took note of how silent and dead Merhojed was. Dang...... no wonder Melichar wasn't all that thrilled with me. I kinda let him down heh. I couldn't even find Straw or my old buddy from Skalitz. There were more guards than residents.
Glad to hear that it'll repopulate - it's depressing to ride my horse thru that town at the moment :P.
There's a reason that wine and beer were so popular in the old days...................
