Either play around with LOD setting or update/rollback to older - gpu drivers.
Apparently (provided KCD is on the ssd) the hard drive should not be the culprit.
One more thing - is the gpu slotted in pciex 16? Not x8? We've seen some curiosities on this forum before, from player not having a dedicated GPU and flipping about constant CTDs, to gpus slotted in wrong pciex.
Thank you for the swift response!
Now that you mention it, I am running the latest driver but it's not the recommended one, so I will do a DDU and install the recommended. Never thought about trying that so thank you. Although no other games in my libraries seem affected - resident evil 2 & 3, witcher 3, tomb raider etc.
gpu definitely in the x16 slot, I always make sure of this whenever I install a new GPU (my motherboard even highlights the bay in a different colour to the other 2 so newbs don't choose the wrong one :) )
Will roll back the driver and reply here with results.
Cheers
However, I started a brand new game and noticed that NPC textures are as they should be, along with other textures but walls, floor are still missing textures and smoke/clouds still blocky.
Also tried verifying integrity of installed files on steam which came back fine.
Not sure what to do next other than uninstall and reinstall, but my internet is painfully slow and would mean I'd have to leave the download running for around 24 hours which isn't ideal.
So, no more blocky smoke and textures are loading perfectly now. Thanks for your suggestions
