If black peter isnt in the tournament due to being dead before you completed the tournament once. There will just be a random npc as the 3rd opponent instead of black peter.
Thank you, but the thing about a random killer killed off a quest related character confuse me alot. (not of your doing )
Or is it an event meant to happen but I just fool around for too long (?) I dont think so, because as the Dead men tell no tales quest, you're supposed to be the one that kill him. So what is this random event that defaults a quest anyway?
he died literally next to the ring, while watching my 2nd bout. Now that I think about it, who (even the player) can kill him in the broad daylight with dozen of guards and armed men standing around without being noticed?
Does anyone knows any mods or way to fix this cuz this randomness really put me off.
Same thing happened to me now. Ive tried fighting the tournament 5x now and he dies each time. Someone assasinated him right next to the ring. So frustrating.
The way i "fixed" it was to force tournament by talking to the host and chose to lodge until the next one. After that, the tournament works normally, ofc without Black Peter.
Thanks for the tip. I would like to win the tournament.
Does anyone know why Black Peter gets killed like this? I must have done something to trigger it. I know that I did the quest for the father of the kid that Black Peter killed, the blacksmith. I finished his questline, or at least reached its end. I seem to recall it saying I failed something at the end.
At the time i had no idea it was connected to the tournament. Perhaps me doing that triggered his death while watching the tournament?
I think we misinterpreted each other. In my case, after BP's death, the tournament was never reopened for weeks. So the way I fixed it was to force tournament by talking to the host and chose the option to pay 180g and wait for the next one (which is simply entering a loading screen and let the game generates a tournament).
In yours, I guess you don't want BP to die, so I suggest you try to skip that tournament, move on with your game and enter the next one. My guess is as you don't trigger the tournament (which was meant the death event for BP), he won't die that day. And maybe by the next tournament, the event's trigger (hopefully) won't happen and you will be able to fight him.
As far as I understand, event triggers (bugs) in most games usually tie to the progress of the game, so maybe if you enter a loading screen (ie. sleeping, cutscenes, got throw into jail, etc.) it might renew it.
I will hope that the tournament is offered again later. If its not, oh well. I give.
so it's a scripted event if you didn't finish the DMTNT quest in time. If the tournament isn't open in weeks just do as I did. I just hate that the fact they failed to mention some quests are timed, it is a game after all.
I wanted to check his body for items but its considered stealing and the guards jump all over you.
When he's dead, I waited for like 5 mins, then loot him, his fellow tournament participators attacked me, but the guards didn't, I ran for the bridge leads to the blacksmith, they gave up, I come back to the corpse and took everything. The gears weren't even half decent consider the loot I got at the time.
Everything related to BP is so buggy and confusing when it first happened.
