Of course, but not in the starting location. You can't get out of there.

You need to follow the main quest up to a certain point. After the prologue you are free to do whatever. Although some things are locked behind the main quest, like side quests and advanced combat techniques. So you will need to do it eventually.

i actually didnt play the main quest.. like the one where u go meet sir.radzig after u get beat up in skalitz... i did a bunch of side quests until my main level was 12.. and then went on with the main quests... which made the pribitzlavitz battle a lot easier that it is...

For example, when you run out of the first village, you can glitch yourself out of the area, not follow the beginning 10 hours or so of questing and roam elsewhere, just need to avoid two areas to not trigger the quest cutscenes. The problem is, you'll not unlock some abilities and you'll be terribly weak and disadvantaged as if you proceeded through the quest. At least you can freely explore that way.

Why would you do that? It takes under 1h to finish the prologue.

oh wow, I remember taking around 8 hours to finish the prologue. Just couldn't find a way to get out of the first castle until I saw a YouTube video on how to scale the walls out so you can find your parents in Skalitz.

I thought it was designed that way so players cannot return the money in STEAM lol!

It doesn't take 1 hour. Skalitz questing, run from Skalitz, escaping Talmberg, returning to Skalitz, and don't forget the cutscenes which are fairly long. If you just glitch out at the run from Skalitz, you indeed spend just one hour. But it's not intended way, you need to watch a YouTube video to know how to glitch out.

Yes, but beware that the quest lines in this game are completely f'd.

In my current playthrough I skipped all cutscenes and not glitched out of Skalitz and it took a little over an hour until I woke up in the mill. I'm by far no speedrunner, but I played this portion a dozen of times and know what to do. You don't even need to glitch out. As soon as you get the quest to escape Skalitz, you can jump from the bridge at the castle. Beware, you can break your legs or die.

Unless I'm mistaken you mean Talmberg not Skalitz

I got out of Talmberg by mistake, they threw me out for crime. Second time, I did same, because I tried to jump off the bridge but there was an invisible wall, so I did it with horse.

I talked my way out.... both times.
