Possible bug in the quest The Madonna of Sasau
Im at the part where I have to find out what happened to Johanka. I need to find Nicodemus, who should be in his workshop next to the infirmary. Only problem, he is gone. I went to sleep and came back the next morning and he is still gone. Its 10 am and he is nowhere.

Anyone have a clue as to where he has gone? Can I proceed in the quest without him? I was told she is locked up in the Rathaus.

If you're on Rocketeer, that means you're also doing Siege quest; did you already get Nicodemus to go to Talmberg and help with the wounded? If so, look in the tent area southeast of Talmberg.

I tried going back to an earlier save and he is still gone. Looks like this quest is ruined for me! This is bad game design.

isn't he where he got to cure the pestilence? (no spoiler)

The only place I am aware he is at is his little apothecary room right next to the infirmary where Johanka helps the injured and ill. He stands at the little desk. He is gone now.

I tried going all the way back to where you first start the mission where you run barefoot to Uzhitz and pray along the way. Instead of going on the trek, I ran to where he should be and he is already gone from there. Its as if he died or something.

I ran through the Monastary trying to find him and cant find him there either. He just gone. I went to where the Inquisitor is supposed to be and he isnt there either. Im stuck.

Wondering if its something to do with the fact that I havent finished the main quest line? I held back on proceeding because I was worried I would get locked out of this DLC quest.

Think I just discovered a way around Nicodemus being gone. I got myself thrown in jail and was able to talk to Johanka. That triggered talk to the Inquisitor. So looks like there is a work around. Just hope I dont need Nicodemus later on for something else.

Yep, thats it! I just talked to the Inquisitor and the optional quest step of talking to Nicodemus before the trial is showing on the map, letter F. It is the little camp just south of Tamberg. Now I remember. i had forgotten.

The Madonna quest showed the yellow area in the Monastery, so I thought he had to be there. Forgot I had sent him out. I will go see him now and get some ideas on how to help Johanka in her trial with the church.

I feel foolish now. The quest appears to be fine.

No disrespect intended... because that's an honest and authentic answer... but I have suspected for a long time that at least 90% of the "Bug! Bug!" posts on this forum are player related rather than inherent in the game.

No offense taken. I was just ready to come back on here and post what I discovered about him and how I had forgotten. Too bad that the quest did not highlight the camp he is at rather than the Monastery, but I can understand why.

The only bug I have had was a quest where I had to look for a guy in the woods. He was nowhere to be found. I watched a youtube video on the quest and saw he was tied to a tree. I went back to the game and found that tree. Sure enough he was there on the tree, just that he was INVISIBLE! I was able to talk to him, and was talking to empty air. I finished the quest anyhow.

I also had the game crash on me just once. Not bad for 142 hours so far on the game!

Well, point of fact I came on this forum complaining about a lip-syncing problem in a trailer I watched before I ever even bought the game. So I don't feel smug or proud about any of it.

To the contrary, I am actually kind of astonished... amazed might be the better word... that with 592 hours in the game on both normal and hardcore I have never experienced any significant bugs in this game. I mean where or when will you find another game that good?

I have played the find Jakey quest at least twice (I don't like losing those guys) and never had him be invisible. [shrug]

I have had the game crash to desktop several time but, IIRC, I have always gotten a message from AMD/Radeon acknowledging some sort of glitch.

Ofc, I save on a fairly regular basis so I don't really worry about losing a whole lot of progress when that happens. If I do lose some gameplay, I just re-play, maybe make a different choice or two, and am grateful for the practice.

XD

No need to feel foolish, it's a big game and sometimes we all lose our place.

Glad I could help, good luck.
