Is "Ginger in a Pickle" time-sensitive?
I just reached this part of the main quest, and I would like to do some stuff back in Rattay before I continue with the storyline. Can I do that right now, or do I have to finish "Ginger in a Pickle" before I can do that?

Training was the main thing I wanted to do, along with a few side-quests. Thanks for the info.

Many/most quests in KCD have high Dynamic Fluidity, in that, when, how and in which order (if you follow quest updates) you do them changes things a bit or a bit more, here n there.

You can NOT get ALL possible scenarios unless you reload and run out that course of choice. Some of those results may take a long time to see.

For your specific situation, nothing in the game will force you (“do i have to”) to do anything.

However, the time within the gameworld still moves along and outcomes change.

I love this component of KCD.

I'm in the next town following the lead. Not OP btw, I was wondering, I was having a conversation with Jakub when a guard spoke with Bernard and I couldn't hear nor see the text box, then they started running to investigate a forest area, what was up with that? I reloaded to try to see what went with the convo and it never happened (i took too long in the northern forest during my initial save).

From my own experience, it appears that if you don't find where the two bandits in that forest are and get the hoof-pick from them, one of the other guards comes to find you and overhears the bandits. He then reports what he heard to Bernard.

Speaking of Bernard, how long does it take he and his men to get back from Neuhof, anyway? I'm back in Rattay right now, and it feels like it's been 3-5 days since I left them. I know it's a bit of a distance between the two locations, even by horseback, but this seems a little ridiculous.

Oh right. Bernard comes back once you finish that Ginger quest. So you actually can't train until then. Hehe.

More than 1k hours in game and I didn't know that. Amazing

OP i was wrong about being able to train with Bernard, people already pointed it out. This is the first time when Bernard will be out of town to do something else. In order to get Bernard back to the training spot at Rattay, you need to progress with main Q.

Well, my main concern was that I risked failing the main quest if I left Neuhof right then. There were sidequests waiting for me back in Rattay, and I wanted to get a start on them.
